We're about to exchange on our house and am going in to one of my folk's rentals for the time being. As a result all of our equity will be sat in a bank account.

I guess we should split it over two different banks as I understand were only protected up to £70k? The next question is there anyway I can make some money on it but will have relatively quick access to it?

Mass attack on current accounts. Santander 123, one each and a joint equals £60k

Tesco, Bank of Scotland and plenty more. Nationwide gives 5%.

A bit messy to set up but safe and instant access. I'd also suggest some in Premium Bonds....you might get lucky

Hadn't thought of Premium Bonds, thanks.
