As you know HL are more expensive them IG for trades.
Any reason why I shouldn't then go for IG ?
Any other company suggestions I might consider and reasons why you recommend them appreciated.
Mix of long term and day trades.

Not sure how many trades you do a month but if you do quite a lot the dealing charges are tiered with Hargreaves Lansdown.

Over 10 and it goes down to £8.95
Over 20 and it goes down to £5.95

In my experience it's the best of a bad bunch.

I'm aware that charges lower on number of trades with both companies.
Number of day trades will depend on several factors that may affect my risk appetite.
What are you inferring by best of bad bunch ?

That i've held and had problems with all the mainstream brokers but i've had the least issues with Hargreaves Lansdown.

Sorry to bang on but can you please extrapolate on those issues.
I hold shares but mainly in funds and long term.

Steven - Have a look at the Frequent Trader platform from Club Finance.

0.24% annual platform fee and £2.50 per online trade... I have not found anyone else close to this.

Cheers

£5 a trade and no annual charge at all. Entry charge is a bit high though.
