My wife is with AEGON, what's the downside with them?

An administrative clusterf**k, if you've ever had professional dealings with them it's v hard work - not to say your wife should lose any sleep if things are going smoothly for her.

These days, I can't think of a single company where things run smoothly. So, I offer this cautiously. Royal London is invariably really on the ball. I don't know if it's because it realises it's b2b and has to stay on top of its game, whether it's the structure, the fact I have a great rep, but I know well, the team I work with there. When I phone, it's not pot luck, I don't go into some call centre hell, I speak to one of two or three people - usually a middle aged bloke who is on my wavelength and I feel far more, that I'm dealing with someone who is on my side, and my client's side. Consequently, things just 'work'. I offer a set price which clients like, so it's easier if a) the pension is appropriate and b) the admin process is predictably smooth. Parmenion are very strong too. And whenever I've spoken with H-L, I've always been thoroughly impressed - the administrative experience is very strong and professional, even if you do (invariably!) needlessly (potentially!) pay a heck of a lot for something which, ultimately, you can get for a far cheaper price elsewhere.
