Paid cash in, counted and weighed. Bank now disputes figure.

Actions by PG didn't cause or exacerbate the deficit. However, a failing business was certainly ill-prepared to have to cope with the economic situation it subsequently faced. Of course the Trustees of the scheme should share some blame as they don't appear to have been holding the Sponsor to account in the way they should, from what I've read.
First ,I recognise my using the wrong word,as you correctly say it was exacerbate.Second, I think we broadly have some sort of understanding of each others points of view that and perhaps we should leave it that.
As an aside I quote this ....."The bankers who took millions while destroying people's savings: greedy, selfish, and immoral."(Business Week)
Third ,apologies to the OP for going very slightly off topic.
Back on topic.
If the teller had both weighed and counted the payment as correct and I was convinced that the amount I had paid in was correct I would not be inclined to accept that I had made the mistake.

If I may return to the original topic for one post, i had a call from the bank manager today apologising profusely for the whole saga. She said the cashier should never had phoned me up as there was no evidence to suggest the bundle that was short was mine, the cashier was only able to assume it was mine. The Manager said that as she had counted it out and weighed it out in front of me (her words so had obviously been told the story by the cashier) that the figure paid in stands.
10 and a half pages of people fighting and shouting at each other and it turns out to be about NOTHING!!!
That's really not good enough y'know.
You come in here, kick off all this 'banker acrimony', slope off and watch WW3 break out from the sidelines, and then come waltzing back and tell us it was all a storm in a teacup........no! no! no!
At the very least there has to be some measure of serious incompetence or dishonesty on the bank's part....

All very interesting and I'm glad you've had a result....BUT......did the bank manager have anything constructive to say about the Financial Crisis ?S1_RS said:
