I currently have a NatWest BlackCard, which has proved to be excellent value for money, too much I suspect as I have just been written to telling me that all the benefits will be disappearing from the end of the month.

Benefits include

Travel Insurance
Airport Lounge Access
Roadside assistance
Home Emergency cover
Personal Assistant

All of which ive found pretty useful over the years.

Can anyone recommend a card similar to this? or ones with comparable benefits?

Many thanks

Amex Platinum charge card provides #1, #2 and #5 on your list plus other benefits. £200/annum more than the NatWest Black though.

Are you sure those benefits aren't from the Natwest Black Account rather than the Natwest Black Credit Card?

I have the Natwest Black Account and get the above benefits.

My step-dad happens to be a PBM for NatWest so I've called him to clarify this...

It is true that the Natwest Black [credit] Card is losing these benefits however there is a way to retain the benefits, provided you are happy to open a current account with NatWest.

If you currently have a Black Card, you're more than likely to qualify for the NatWest Reward Black account which includes all of the benefits you've listed OP apart from the travel insurance covering pre-existing medical conditions i.e the insurance remains but no longer covers pre-existing conditions.

The Reward Black account costs £28 per month however due to the cashback you earn in "rewards" on things like utility bills paid by direct debit etc. you'd likely recoup this.

If you have a Reward Black account, you can then get a Reward Black credit card at no charge (normally £84) to allow you to retain a credit card facility. The Reward Black credit card also has no foreign transactions fees which is nice.

Oh I see, so I still get all the benefits from the actual account, they just aren't attached to the CC anymore?

Correct, yes.

With the caveat that the travel insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions.
