Sent money to closed account

I've just done something a bit daft. I've managed to accidentally transfer money into my dads account which was closed in January after his death.

Is there anything I can do or have I lost the money?

If you give me your account number and sort code, along with your mother's maiden name and your password, I'll see what I can do.

Or, here's an idea; you could call your bank.

Call your bank first thing, they can recall it but it can take a little time. The chances are it's now in a suspension account of the receiving bank.

It will be held by the bank while they see what's happened. They may well just return it from where it came. Speak to them, it will shorten their enquiries.
