Only one card. Used it once for an international purchase last month. Previous to that was years ago. The card company lowered my monthly limit so it 'assist with my credit rating' as I don't use it much and when I do pay it all off in one go. I'm not even sure what a credit rating is and how it would assist me as the only 'loan' I ever had was a mortgage that got paid off early 10yrs early.

Always use the Debit Card.

Live's more important to me than accruing points towards a fondue set or a free walnut whip

Don't you buy your car tax online?

Airport fast tag?
My car tax was done by direct debit on my last car
Yup. That's an option. Same effect as a debit card.

Yes there is, and flights and other stuff.
Do you know of a cc awarding at a rate of 2.5%?

Genuine question as I would certainly be interested.

I don't collect any kind of points or cash back if that's what you are asking?

This thread is just bizarre.

My credit card costs me nothing as there is no annual fee and it gets paid in full each month.

It affords me protection on purchases that I wouldn't have under a debit card.

If needed, it offers me access to an immediate loan (albeit at noncompetitive rates - but nevertheless its available).

It increases my credit rating.

I cannot see any negatives aside from if you are a spanner when it comes to self-control. Why would you not have one?
mines with john lewis, who give cashback in the form of john lewis vouchers. They pay me to use their card, its remarkable.

Completely agree. Only if there is a charge to use a cc will I use a debit card.
