A Rare Stock Market Coincidence.
Discussion
Not terribly exciting, but perhaps of brief interest to Finance forum members, because you probably like numbers.
Whilst doing my weekly valuation today, I thought there must have been a data error, with the FTSE 100 Index value.
It was though not an error, but a most unusual coincidence.
The Index closing figure this week is 7547.63.
The close last week was also 7547.63.
Even after a huge number of individual transactions, the market movement since last Friday has therefore been 0.00%.
There must presumably be quite long odds on this four digit number, plus two places of decimals, being identical in two consecutive weeks. I have never noticed that happening before, during my several decades of market dealings.
