Transferwise not accepting debit card

I always use transferwise and the same debit card but its coming up unauthorised and a call to the bank says no issue - anyone else had a problem?

I tried to use a credit card, and my bank initially automatically rejected it, but they called me up later and cleared it. That was HSBC and I thought it was quite efficient if them.

Next time it went through effortlessly. Not sure why a debit card won’t work. Credit card gives you some protection too, which was why I specifically did not use a debit card even with the cash in the account.

It was a gateway error at their end, I’ve been using them for 15 months twice a month to pay a Polish developer we use without any issues at all.

Oh, okay, fixed already.

I forget to mention I was using the card with TransferWise, so it looked like my post was hardly relevant. Oops.

Anyway, Transferwise do work quite well, give a good rate, only discovered them a couple of weeks ago. Any advice or warnings about them?

No issues in over a year before last week, also its good to keep track of payments and easy to repeat them plus its £££ less than anything else. Its a very good service.

I have to pay in $ or Zlotys and you cannot send $ to certain countries is the only minor issue.
