Looked at my ClearScore this morning, and after not changing for as long as I can remember its suddenly dropped 83 points…. Seems an odd one as nothing has changed at all… any ideas?
I went onto Experian to check that and nothing has changed but it did say it updates in two days, so maybe wait for that and see what they say ?

Maybe an opportunity to send you junk email and get you to look at their site where they can offer you an irresistible loan or something…. You are the product

Ignore the number as you're the only person that ever sees it. Just check that all the information is correct. As long as it is, you've nothing to worry about.
If you go into the full report and click "Insights" it might tell you what they don't like, but they aren't the ones that set lending criteria so use it for guidance only.

And Experian is probably irrelevant as they're a separate credit reference agency who might receive different information and will calculate your score in a different way. Clearscore use information from Equifax.

Your score on those sites is just a mechanism for them to sell you stuff. I believe in the US the score is actually used by lenders but that's not the case in the UK.

Don't forget that your score is made up of data from the last 6 years.

Whenever there is a change people panic and assume that it's something that just happened that has changed the score but it can also be something from 6 years ago that was propping up your score has dropped off your credit file now.........

Your score is as close to meaningless as makes no difference. It’s not used by anyone to make lending decisions and ignores quite a bit of important data.

It’s just a way to try to get you to pay for extra services.
