Appreciate that thanks. I will do some more research. I was just a bit bewildered is all. I was a bit naiive I think as to exactly how volatile shares (especially AIM ones) can be. From mid day yesterday to right now its gone up about 10% or something silly!
Thanks anyway.
There are so many variables which could have affected yesterdays SP. i.e shorting (we know somebody has been shorting this stock heavily), sellers locking in tax year profit, people second guessing the next wave, stop losses being triggered (almost certainly happened yesterday), negative press etc. The list goes on. Thanks anyway.
I've always been skeptical on the manipulation ideas especially on small stock. A think a lot of it depends on what the city boys are doing / talking about in pubs and general sentiment.

Can someone explain how QPP closed yesterday in the 33's and opened today in the 35's?
Must be out of hours trading, but how and why?
Uh, the opening price and the closing price from the day before are generally never the same.Must be out of hours trading, but how and why?
If some significant news came through out of hours then the price at which people decide to trade at the next day will be different, regardless of whether there is any after hours trading. You'll find "gapping" happens intraday too whenever there's some news.
So the QPP 'manipulation' I naively suggested yesterday may have been true then?
Fidelity Investments increasing their stake over 5% and obviously wanting to purchase at the lowest price possible?

If this cant be done willingly by big players then can someone explain why they think the price dropped so suddenly only to shoot back up yesterday (when perhaps a massive order was filled?)?
Any advice would be appreciated

The effect date is 2 Apr 2014 - coincidentally the same day we saw an opening price of 35p, a low of 32p, and a close of 35p (rounded). Fidelity Investments increasing their stake over 5% and obviously wanting to purchase at the lowest price possible?

On the 2nd, FMR LLC increased their holding by 40m odd shares - which by my reckoning is £13.4m (at 33.5).
Very difficult not to feel paranoid.

Indeed it is!
And back to 38.5p Well I've hit my target sell price this morning on QPP to unload 50% of my holding. Missed it last time around at it's peak but actually had a 40p target price and offloaded at 42.776.
Now watch it shoot through the roof.
Still searching out some next targets but cannot say I'm too enticed by a great deal for the minute.

I'm (finally) into the black with QPP now, £500 up this morning alone! I think I'm going to carry on holding on, but will be certainly updating my stop loss - seems odd thinking that this time last week I was a knats nacker off my stop loss kicking in at 30p and a pretty chunky loss!

Ta Jonboy. The lion's share were all held in a SIPP so takes an element of both realism and excitement away as no access for a minimum of 20 years but perhaps that helps make less emotionally charged decisions. With the dip over the last fortnight I was more concerned with the paper loss shown in my ISA than I was my SIPP - and yet the figures were laughably small in the ISA and yet a fair old wedge in the SIPP. I still think the future is rosy for QPP, and hence leaving some skin in the game. I'm just abiding by my own rules and targets and keeping that discipline with my originally targeted figure. Good luck for some decent returns for you
