News release?
It's AIM, that RNS will be forgotten about in around 2 hours and it'll continue on its regular downward trajectory. Don't forget, it went up to 240p not that long ago before diving straight back down where it's been fluctuating wildly since.

Took a small punt (admittedly, it was a gamble) on a mining company called Red Leopard Holdings (RLH) last month. Only put £1k in at .45p as I'd heard of possible news on a high yield mine in the U.S. News just came out today that the permission has been granted to open the mine up, so a small rise off the back of that so far today.

If (a big if) they find as much as they think is in there, could be looking at 5p+ per share, so a tidy 10+ bagger for me. May come to nowt, but we shall see.

If you've got a spare few quid looking for a home and aren't averse to a bit of a punt, you could do a lot worse than this!

Let me guess... you wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend? Good time to top up? This is going to the moon? hehe

Nope, that'll have been me. To be fair, I first posted about them on here when they were around 7p and within a short space of time they were at 45p. I got out around 35p and since that time I have seen nothing that makes me think I want to go back in. I work in the marketplace and despite all the announcements and blowing smoke up their own ass, there is little to no sign of them actually gaining traction in the market they profess to be one of the biggest players within. They also will have a very rude awakening if they truly believe the % of likely successes and levels of costs in deafness cases. When I first read the forecasts I thought they had the percentages the wrong way around in terms of anticipated successes/defeats/withdrawals.

Their proposed figures in relation to deafness cases were ridiculous and anticipated profit based on those alone rang huge alarm bells for me. Either very naive or deliberately embellished but totally unrepresentative of industry standards.

The question is, what will become of them if they flop. They have built bought a fairly large chunk of market share.
Corrected that for you.

Everything seems overstated - 50000 vehicle black boxes a month?
Built by way of acquisition, but that's a given having regard to the fact they didn't exist more than a few years ago aside from as a golf club...

That's the same as saying I built a house by giving Persimmon £250k hehe

How long do we give it before it all comes crashing down?

I'm not really disagreeing with you, but I would say a closer analogy is Terry has bought a collection of clapped out houses, a few half decent ones whose mortgage was due for repayment, and tried to build a Milton Keynes, with all businesses entwined and feeding from one another.

It's not a bad concept and the companies that Quindell have got into bed with on the back of their formation are not to be sniffed at. The problem seems that it's underpinnings are dubious, their accounting/financial forecasting practices sharp at best, and Terry himself has previous in the form of TIG which makes many nervous.

If it does collapse I wonder how much wheat from the chaff will be extracted in the liquidators fire sale. That would cut to the core of the business and perhaps tell us a little more what is truly beneath each layer (albeit we would know at that stage it didn't have the profitability/foundations it presents to the public).

Haven't done this for a while.

Would've closed a modest £150 gain from EasyJet today if I wasn't in the shower when trading finished. getmecoat

What's your thesis on it? Don't want to sway your opinion but I've had a large longterm position in Apple for the last 2 years. My opinion the year highs for this stock aren't in yet but then again I would be slightly biased with an exit target of $150 at a minimum.

Take opinons out of it...

reasons to hold: there's strong evidence of an iwatch coming, new iphones are due soon, seems to be ramping up in China. Christmas quarter for Apple will be huge. Still trading below valuations compared to what some of it's peers seem to trade at, still relatively low institutional holding. Apple still buying back its own stock. Carl Icahn hasn't sold ( thats not a serious reason wink ) Evidence of apple moving into payment market.

reasons to sell: well if you think the stock has climbed too quick. iPhone and iPad markets are saturated and there's limited further growth to be had, holding a view that Apple won't innovate and come up with new products and it's best days are behind it.

You've pretty much summed up my reasons to sell, far more eloquently than I could have! Also, I've had a good run with it so it'd be nice to take a profit.

The recent press does look good. It might be worth just shorting on it and make a quick few quid.

Very pleasant morning this morning, up 40% at the moment! Although it was not much more than a punt in my eyes, I had an exit target in mind that would take me, the wife and baby_t on a camping holiday for a week, might be able to push the boat out if it continues like this!
