Very pleasant morning this morning, up 40% at the moment! Although it was not much more than a punt in my eyes, I had an exit target in mind that would take me, the wife and baby_t on a camping holiday for a week, might be able to push the boat out if it continues like this!
beer I may have had a look and put a little on this. Carrys on it will be a bottle of the big stuff

If it stabilizes back down around the 0.40/0.45p price I will have a punt for a short.

Good write up on QFI yesterday by Seeking Alpha. Some very pie in the sky figures in it (such as the maths that would mean the share price hitting £150!!), but it is comforting to see a relatively well regarded name getting on side.

It's my lads 1st birthday next week, so we're 'putting aside' a little chunk of my QFI shares into my wifes ISA as an investment for him for when he's 18 (if we do a good job of it and he's not a nob!). My portfolio is now 90% QFI and a couple of dabblers. Not fantastic practise, but if it hit 1% of the (ludicrous) £150 figure in this article, I'm 1 very large step closer to retirement by 40....!

I can but wish!
What do we think of these for the near future then guys? Not a lot of mob
Cement whilst the seaborne trials are undertaken. I'm told 4000 hour testing so that's at least 6 months to any data being released. So very little movement for the rest of the year....?

Wordy answer to that one, I'm afraid!

Quite possible that things will slow until LoNO, but there are a lot of other strings to QFi's bow that could see some excellent news before the LoNO trials even start.

The fuel is suitable for use in power generation too and there has recently been another product launched that Exxon have begun using that is, in principle, the same idea (uses different compounds and made of different stuff, but the end result is the same). By virtue of this, many generation companies have woken up to it and the fact that the biggest shipping company in the world is trialling our fuel will (should) give them a big confidence boost that ours is the better one to go for.

I think I'm right in saying that we are also waiting for confirmation of the Global Oil Major who is partnering with us for the supply of the waste product MSAR2 is made from. If it turns out to be Shell or Exxon or BP or some other mahooosive outfit, that's excellent news for QFI as it means a company of that size regards what QFI are doing highly enough to have their name attached to it. If it turns out to be Olli's Oils who run out of a boating lake in Plymouth, probably not such a great thing! But QFI refer to their GOM (Global Oil Major) in most announcements and updates, so I doubt it will be a small fry company.

There are also various announcements that are in the pipeline relating to oil manufacturers and production plants.

A big (and long term) view for me is that any one of these announcements could put QFI into the line of sight of a global major as a buy-out target. Although the Board have said that this is not an exit strategy for them, if we see one or two big announcements, no global giant is going to sit there and watch this small company take a chunk out of their profits without trying to shut them out somehow. If QFI did become a buy-out target, I doubt it would be before we hit 70p-£1 per share and also probably not before LoNO trials are complete. But this would certainly make an interesting pay day for any shareholders who are in now - I've seen people a lot better qualified than me give their projected buy-out prices (after LoNO) of anywhere between £3 and £5.50.

Sorry for the wordy answer, but there are so many avenues this can go down that it's impossible to sum it up succinctly!

Thanks for the answer.

I am considering buying more shares as and when I've done some overtime and the cash comes in, thinking il continue to buy whilst they are under 60p a share if I can and hope to build a chunk up before any news on trials has been released.

I'm assuming that trials have been undertaken in smaller engines prior to the seaborne trials with maersk with some success for maersk to be justifying using their ships...?

Think 60p might still be a few months away, so plenty of time (unless news comes out, of course)!

They've been doing land based (Proof Of Concept) trials for a while on 2 different engines that Mearsk use, think the land based trials were 400 hours each. One came back a month or so ago as 'more positive than expected' but the second has been held up due to a problem with the engine manufacturer or something - not sure what the problem is, but it's not related to the fuel.

Unfortunately not! I work in Finance for a charity, so totally different area.

Got into QFI about 2 years ago at 10p-ish (saw a tip online, researched it, liked it!) and have followed it's movements closely since then. Sold everything at mid-40's a while back, bought some proper dog shares so lost my nerve and bought back into QFI at mid-30's a couple of months ago.

QFI is looking like a good home for some money long term IMO. I know a few people who are £100k+ into it and they are all very happy and comfortable. Some of them may be closely linked to some of the people in white coats at the company.

Is Katie Hopkins married off? If not, we should arrange a date for them both. Then send in all the people they've made miserable to 'have a word'.

Nice update from QFI today. It's been confirmed that the 2nd PoC has been passed on the MAN engine, so both engine tests are now complete.

It hasn't come out as an RNS, but a poster on one of the BB's has received the official confirmation and associated blurb from QFI's Investor Relations team (I've bolded some of my favourite bits smile):

"Dear Mr #####

It never was the intention that the Company issue a RNS solely on the completion of the MAN seaborne trial.

At the time of the Update, the programme was substantially completed with all the seaborne testing requirements having been met , and the Marine MSAR fuel on the vessel was simply being consumed in the normal course of service.

The key milestone was the Maersk Proof of Concept (POC) confirmation as it opened the path to the next phase. This confirmation was announced in the Update RNS . The MAN programme has since been completed in all respects and the results met expectations.
The POC, however, is not contingent on receipt of the formal MAN trial report - which is not yet to hand.

The POC in effect confirms that Maersk view Quadrise Marine MSAR fuel as a suitable standard substitute for HFO bunker fuel for use in qualifying vessels in their fleet. It is in this context that Maersk and Quadrise are now proceeding with the next phase. This involves contracting with selected refineries for Marine MSAR production to supply Maersk requirements from North West Europe bunker ports . Initial supplies will fuel the engine manufacturers LONO requirements , and thereafter production will be scaled up to fuel the Maersk roll-out programme.

We trust that this clarifies the situation .

QFI: Investor Relations"

I believe I can succinctly summarise this in one word - WoopDefkingDoo!
