Anybody else holding Standard Chartered? Not looking good - http://www.hl.co.uk/news/articles/standard-charter...

Do I cut my losses or hold on? scratchchin
It had a bad write-up in the Telegraph a couple of days ago. Down 44% in 18 months IIRC. I wouldn't buy more but I would hold - surely the yield must be quite good?
Yes the yield is good. I just hope they keep the dividend.

I will hold. The way I see it every year or 2 a share I hold goes tits up. In the past BP and others but they mostly come back. Glad I dumped Tesco a few months ago tho.

Well that is a nice little pay day!
Yup high risk though if it had missed wow it would be back in the 40's. Will help offset the pain being short on this run in the market and more, thankfully they were all light positions but this takes V shaped bounces to another level.

From gpro point of view cracking earnings report, and upped guidance for q4. No competition currently and expanding margins doesn't get much better than that. This will be just fine into christmas. Add the fact that so many were negative or short the stock and I'm confident this does new ATH before year end.

The hard part for me will be sitting on the profit and not taking it patience really isn't my strong point.

Won't get into the debate weather $100+ is justified but this just became THE momo stock to play forget all the media company rubbish currently this is a pure hardware play, could well end up doing a tesla-esque move.

JPM, Piper Jeffray, Citi, Stifel, Barclays errm who else Oppenheimer all negative on the shares pretty sure they'll change their minds asap.

On another topic gold eek looks tempting will wait and see what it does around 1150 first.

Another lovely day for Fiat Chrysler. Overall I've gone from 6.95 to 9.50 in about three days. Might sell up on Monday - there must be a limit to it.

Was just luck wink, hoping it goes parabolic today above $92 would be nice. My price target is $120

Looking over Apple seems to be extended quite abit either it breaks down to 103-105 soon or it's starting one of those verticle runs still see $115-$120 by year end.

Alibaba before the bell should be interesting has run up quite a bit in the last 2 weeks, not touching this into the earnings but I'll take a virtual short on it.

Hope so! Currently over 100% up (been holding for 3+ years) and I cannot really see Apple stalling in the medium term.

So, how about Virgin Money: IPO back on again....

...potential to be a strong player in the bankng sector?

Alibaba decent earnings managed to get a short trade from 105 to 103 then snapped up about 500 shares at 100.50 looking for a 110-115 exit.

Tesla after the bell today should be interesting.

Gold looks likes the bottom is falling out of it $1000 soon maybe? Current price looks like some of the mining companies will be making a loss per ounce mined.

Physical? I set up an account with bullionvault, not really positioning for a short term trade more as a disaster hedge. Will start accumulating it in batches.

Nah, just on IG. Don't see the point of buying and storing the physical stuff.
