My partner was running a stop at 5.5% so was stopped out in Beazley at the open for break even as the trade technically failed. I was on the phone and missed it and am holding a 3% loss and waiting for the bid up now over the following 7 days or so which usually occurs.
What have you done with yours out of interest? I see they went below 2.80

After the downgrades that Friday came out I binned it by the close at 88.5 when it rallied a little.

Last week we traded Rio at 3078 but closed for 3000 after the 78 divi so a loss there.

There are 4 currently on the radar for this week. STAN, BLT, DLG and SL. but it's a strange week again in the equity side so might not do anything.

Okay thanks. I guess you look at it as a trading strategy, over the course of a year you're up on it.....

Yup. It's one of a few systems we run that look to arb inst fund flows. This one normally does around 30% a year return with a 72% hit rate but it's not scaleable because it's all based on limited liquidity. One we do which really is illiquid is arbing changes in inv trust discounts caused when a pension fund is selling out or buyin in and pushing the discount away from the norm. That can be done in bugger all size but produces an ok return.

Well that was unexpected. I am also a broker, though I don't run a brokerage shop myself.
any clues as to the name? I may have heard of you.

Many moons ago I had a choice of ICAP or BoNY. To this day I'm not quite sure why I chose BoNY, it was a terrible place.

I bought BMW at 87.00 last year and I'm really happy with it as an investment... it has outperformed my Apple shares in that period. I still see 120.00 as achievable and it will also go ex-Div shortly too. I'm holding for now.

Lots of new products and they're entering new segments with the 2 Series Active Tourer and 2 Series Gran Tourer (7 seater too). Not saying I like the cars, but they're really cornering every market. Also, I read somewhere they vow to offer a Plug-In hybrid version over every Series by 2018... MINI 5 door now outselling the 3 door (surely mostly customers who would have bought something else) and Rolls Royce sales are at their best for years. Just my 2p.
Getting close to 120 today. Don't know whether to stay firm with my decision to ride it to 120, or cancel the sell order and keep going! :/

They will shortly announce a plug in hybrid version of their X5 apparently... and China is recovering apparently. I also imagine, due to the low Euro value they are exporting loads at the moment. Wait lists on X3's are November 2015! They must be doing something right

Big sell of in AAPL today, currently hovering around 122.9 down from 128 a couple of days ago.

Rode it from 108 up to 128 then sold out, looking at getting back in but as with anything waiting for sentiment to turn, cant help but feel its got a bit to go yet!

I bought back today 122.20 was looking to get back in the 120's. Support should be 50day @ 121.30 failing that bigger support around $115. Sell target I have in mind on these are $140 and then $160. $140 should be doable within 6 months. Hoping Apple can end up green today on big volume.

Other than Apple bought Nflx $436 target $470ish and Google $560 target $580.

Talking AAPL , I'm quite interested on how supplier INVN will come out of all this. They've been hammered over the lawsuit that alleges they mislead everyone last year, but with announcements this week they're currently going the opposite direction to AAPL...

I have a couple of rules regarding AAPL.
1. Never short AAPL.
2. Never go long an AAPL supplier.

Even the venerable STX, WDC... remember the iPod Minis? Yes Seagate we would like over 10 million of your highly profitable micro-HDDs please?...
...6 months later...
iPod Nano (solid state memory)...
BOOM.

Synaptics - spinny wheel to select songs - AWESOME.... next time... touchscreen... BOOM.

You announce you are an Apple supplier on their latest generation of whatever... and your stock doubles.
Then everyone realises - damn, no more growth - because you are already in every single iWhatever.
Then everyone realises - damn, no margin because - well who has the power here?
Then everyone realises - YOU AREN'T IN THE NEXT GENERATION iWhatsit.

Au revoir and goodnight.

Not worth the risk.

My IPO in TSB certainly looking very strong today, bought in at £2.60 now sitting at £3.30 after a takeover bid by some Spanish bank. Shame ithe IPO was limited to £2000 each, but still over 25% profit to sell now. Tempting, but there's an additional 5% of shares if you hold for a year, which is coming up in June.

Thoughts? Sell now or wait it out?

As has been said so many times about Santander, "No one expects the Spanish Acquisition!"

Why not wait it out and see how it plays out? This is only the first move. Although naturally it's up to you to consider the risks!
