Guys, you know its a lottery, right?
Of course it is but how would you feel if you purchased £40k worth of lottery tickets and didn't win a bean?

"Good news from ERNIE about your NS&I Premium Bonds" - will find out the amount later.
I'm so excited. Not.

Ernie lives over the road, I'm tempted to go over and give him a kicking for not giving me a prize this month

This is how is should be advertised - a no lose lottery. Ditch the national lottery and allow people to buy "tickets" for this easily, public then has savings and the chance to win a bit of cash, no?

Good to hear someone winning more than £25. We all won in our household 4 x £25.

I'm certainly enjoying a great rate for what is a relatively (notwithstanding inflation) low risk with the possibility of the big win. Got max invested and getting roughly £25 every 4 or 5 months. Had a run of three months in a row of £25 last summer.

Hilarious, isn't it?
Someone is happy with a £5/6 a month return on £30k+ invested!
There's a house advertised near Durham for £20k with a tenant in returning £4k PA.
But these premium bonds are top drawer...!

Had about £15k, and with an 8 month drought, I pulled out and stuck it in the bank.

Notwithstanding the odds of winning prizes; there's a chance of a million and all prizes are free of any tax liability. And they're hassle free. But I certainly wouldn't recommend putting the whole allowance in if that was your only investment opportunity. As part of a much larger plan it's just a bit of fun.

No but if you log in and look at the "transactions" page, it shows me that I have had 1 x £25 prize reinvested on 3rd Feb i.e. today. So I can tell that I won 1 x £25 in the Feb draw.
