My dad recently sent me all my premium bonds and a letter pre typed passing the responsibility over to me...

£350, the last time I had a win I bought a brand new Nintendo 64 and was the bks at school for about 3 weeks until everyone started getting playstations...

Deciding wether to keep it or cash them in and put it towards a new car...

It could be worse, Barclays are currently offering just 0.7% interest on their savings account. Before tax. So that's net "interest" at one quarter the rate of inflation.

Frankly Premium Bonds look a bit of a bargain compared with the ongoing bank rip-offs. The average Premium Bond rate of return is 1.3% and it's tax free.

If anyone's still got any index-linked National Savings certificates, hang onto them!!

I've had 2k of premium bonds since I was a baby, never checked anything - do they send you a letter if you win something?

Could I be a millionaire and not know it?

I have but my mum still lives there, so I'd know if they had sent anything.
