'Tis true. The money landed overnight; I'm not going to let it change my life smile

Thanks again

Last month I changed from re-investing in more Bonds to having any winnings paid into my Bank Account. I won £50 this month (something better then nothing), I'm still waiting for the money to materialise. I checked the the NS&I website, it states that it can take up to 7 days for the funds to show.

I'm just wondering if I'm just being an impatient sod or is there another issue? Quite simply, is everyone else in the same boat or do I need to investigate further?
TIA beer
Received e mail about a prize on Tuesday, money in the bank today, Friday.

I invested 5k in PBs about five months ago...nothing.
I'm considering pulling it out and sticking it in a basic 4.1% savings account I have. I'd be up a few hundred quid by now irked

I am posting this in the hope I now win something. A bit like going to the loo in a restaurant prompts your food to be served on your return!

Interestingly I invested £7k in 2020, my first win was in May 2021 was £5k, I've pretty much won most months since, not that amount but £25 - £100.

I used the winnings towards my Florida holiday I'm going on this Wednesday.

Hang in there!

Decided to start moving money out of these bonds now

Interest rates are better, and guaranteed elsewhere.

Ahh here we are!

What took you so long? Rates were better than they are now even a year ago!

50% of mine went into CHIP this month @ 4.8% - with a sum put into their prize account just to see what happens. Rest will be moved next tax year for obvious reasons, but be interesting to operate like this for a 6 month period and see the returns.

Daughter just got another £50 on her investment of £125 initially so she is 100% up in 10 months - so cant complain for her!

Bereavement and thinkings lifes too short to save and sit on money. A year thinking I wanted to buy a fancy car etc etc but now decided not to.
Use some money to pay my student loan off, put a chunk into my S&S ISA for long term retirement planning.
Keep some in bonds and the rest in a savings account.

I had my first win on the £20k I put in a few months ago. Only £100 but it's a start. I have £10k I'll think about putting elsewhere. Last I looked the Principality did an OK ISA.

This popped up in my recommended videos on Youtube. He claims that with average luck it would take 100,000 years to win the jackpot with £50k invested!

I've had £4500 for about a year in PBs but have only won £75 frown . I've just opened a Beehive Account with 5.2% so I'm diverting my savings into that instead.

Apologies if this has been asked before:
how long does it take to apply/setup a PB account and if withdrawing funds, typical time from request to receiving funds into bank account?

Can’t remember the set up but it’s about 2-3 days to hit a bank account from withdrawal.

I don’t dispute that but on the other side of the statistics you have people with £100 total holding winning £100k and £50k. There are usually at least a couple like this every month.

The odds of the jackpot are tiny because there are only two a month, fixed and unrelated to the number of bonds in the system. Are people really in it for the actual jackpot, or just a tax free chance to win a few quid?

Of course the jackpot interests me, but I'd be over the moon to win any of the large prizes - £5k or above.

So we should all reduce our holdings to £100……….that should guarantee a big win…..
