Funny - I've just stumbled on this thread - my father had the max amount and its declined over a number of years - he's 67 and they were now earning bugger all according to him as opposed to a few years ago when he was regularly seeing a few hundred quid a year.
So he offloaded and bought an XFR.

I dropped a decent portion of savings into NSI last month so I can have fun whilst I save rather than watch a tiny trickle of interest on my ISA. Am under no illusions of it being more lucrative, I just think ISA interest rates take the piss right now so why not have fun with it instead.
