stander system is easier, just sends a txt to your mobile.
Even though I hate them
Could you explain a little bit more about how the santander system works?Even though I hate them
Do you still have to type in a code from that card reader thingy?
.
The Santander way is cool.
They send you a code to your registewred mobile.
They call it ' One Time passcode' OTP
Different random code every time
You text the code into the box, in the transfer, or payment page.
Viola !

Does it use a card reader that generates a random number? Just received mine from natwest.
If it helps with security then I'm all for it..!
Yes thats the one.If it helps with security then I'm all for it..!
To make a payment-
Click onto bank web site.
Enter user ID number.
Enter Password.
Get new card reader out.
Get new card out and place in reader.
Press Identify and enter new PIN.
Then enter onto web the randomly generated numbers that the reader generates.
Click onto Bank account.
Click onto Transfer funds.
Click onto the recipient account details.
Enter the amount to transfer.
Enter the date to transfer.
Put card in reader again.
Press Sign on reader and enter PIN
Then enter recipients account number into reader.
Then enter amount to transfer into reader.
Then it generates another randon number to be input into bank web site.
And viola..
You have managed to pay 1 recipient only and have to go through all this st again for all the others!
Who the hell thought this system was a winner?!!
I'l be off to another bank or write a bloody cheque!

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that Lloyds New Internet Service is the worse thing to happen to banking since Bernie Madoff.
I absolutely hate it!!!!
I've just had an twenty minute discussion with someone in their internet banking team who I assume has never ran a business, yet alone even used the software himself.
What I asked was
1) Why do payments that used to appear sameday in most banks, now take at least 24 hours? (no conclusive answer - they just denied this was ever the case)
2) Why the card reader has to be used everytime to login (they kept trying to fob me off about security, until I explained that other banks dont do the same. The then explained that they will have to catch up eventually and have card readers too, to which I explained they already do, but just realise how best to use them without pissing off customers)
3) Why I have to enter my card details everytime I'm paying someone (approx 40 secs delay per payment which adds up with some 20 payments each day)
What I've taken away is
1) You have to apply for 'bulk payments' through the link on the left hand menu.
Upside - You only have to enter your card details once for all payments
Downside - It lumps all the payments together as one amount on your statement
- It takes three days for the payment to clear
= Own Goal yet again for Lloyds
As much as I hate Natwest's business business banking manager, I'd take their online banking anyday of the week.
And what's the deal with the buttons on the stupid card reader being angled away from you so your fingers are always slipping off
ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Thanks for giving me somewhere to vent!!
