I collect old books. The oldest I have is a Latin bible printed in 1524.
I also have a copy of Ptolemy's "Geographia" - an atlas of all the major countries and regions along with descriptions - from 1594.
Both are still perfectly readable after nearly 500 years. The same will not be said of today's e-books...
