Broken oven - Thermostat or element. How do I tell?
Discussion
The timer has been broken for years and that did not affect the good functioning of the bottom oven. So I could not set it up anyway but the oven was usable. I wanted to replace it at some point but it costed about £200 so I gave up. It flashes there all the time, do you think that it is the problem?!
Not without looking inside the oven, I'm not familiar with your particular one but they are usually similar inside whichever make they are.
Usually they are fastened to the back of the oven compartment and if the oven gets too hot maybe because the thermostat has failed they trip out, they are usually first in the circuit as well so when they trip they take everything out - fan, light, indicator light etc.
Usually they have a hole in the back you can stick something small inside like a paper clip and reset them or they may have a small button on them to pust they look something like this :-

OR it could still be the timer, this usually turns everything off as well including the indicator light if its not bringing the oven on manually, its just a process of.
Just a note, if you do mess around inside with a multi meter then you may need the power on to test everything but this is obviously dangerous so you need to know what you are doing and one top tip - you can insert a metal paper clip or similar into the trip whilst its still tripped and everything seems fine but the moment you reset it the paper clip will be live at mains voltage as its now conducting again, you only make that mistake once.
