Cob bulbs and GU10 bulbs are quite different?
Also, at that K rating they will be very white and quite harsh. I would tend to go with warm white in any domestic environment.
Not necessarily. COB is Chip On Board which usually indicates a large single LED diode on a small printed circuit board rather than a big cluster of little LEDs in an array. The GU10 part is simple the cap (mounting point with the feet)at the rear. GU10 doesn't necessarily indicate a type of lamp as you can get loads of different shapes and sizes with the GU10 cap on the back.Cob bulbs and GU10 bulbs are quite different?

I may regret this as I'll probably want to buy more (just bought 10 off this guy!) but some very cheap EcoLED Zep1's here...

No use for them just now but difficult to pass up at that price, I have one as a porch light just now and it's awesome! Hoping the wife doesn't have a use in mind so I can put them in my garage when it's built.

Bumping up again as it's too good an offer to miss!
I'm now going to have 20 off them sat in a box until my extension is eventually built
The 10 I've just bought may go in the garage
I'd leave off until you need them.I'm now going to have 20 off them sat in a box until my extension is eventually built

LED lighting is improving and falling in cost at a rate that embarrasses computer technology currently.
So I'm writing down some instructions for the electrician... At Guy's suggestion I am only putting the Zep 1s around the edges of two small / med size rooms.
The distance apart is pretty much dictated by the room layout but I am not sure how far to distance from the walls. Any thoughts?

Hi Guy,
Wonder if you could help... My showroom mainly has Fluorescent Strip Lighting in, but one small section has 6x 50W GU5.3 Lamps in. Obviously these six lamps cost a fair bit to run when they're on 12 hours a day, six days a week.
Dad picked up some LED replacements a few months ago, but they flickered badly when fitted so reverted back to the Halogens - they will likely have come from the Electric Centre, I don't have the boxes to know what make they were.
Are there better lamps available that won't flicker, or is that down to the transformers we have? I'd really like to get some LEDs in there so I can leave those lights on without thinking about the energy they're using!
Any advice gratefully received...
Jon

I have a question. I have a 6 lamp spotlight, and actually need dim, yellow (incandescent bulb) low energy bulbs. I have some LEDs in it at the moment, but they are too white and too bright!
Suggestions? Will consider dimmable LEDs - the main issue is the colour...needs to be properly warm.
