Does anyone know where I might get a spare towing eye? It dosn't have to be new.

I doubt it's an Aston only item, but you never know.

The dealer say you can't buy just the eye, you have to order the whole kit.

This might do the job? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aston-Martin-Virage-and-...

It is from HWM AM so I'd hope so.

It looks close but might be for a classic Vantage.

I was told that the V8V has a different towing eye than the DB9 and V12V for some reason. If that's true it's definitely one for the AM pub quizbiggrin

Just a quick follow up on this.

The V8V towing eyes are from Ford (no great surpise) or GM (Opel / Vaxhall).

Actually the one I got from the wreckers is actally longer and works better on the front, giving better clearance to the bodywork.

Realised this morning that I still hadn't got around to replacing my missing towing eye.
I nearly ordered from AstonBits - at £28 it's not too expensive but with vat and delivery was no doubt more like £40.
There is a breaker about 5 miles from my house - practically pass it on my journey to work - so just nipped there. The guy there watched me pull up and as I got out of the car smiled, shook his head and said : no.
But 30 seconds later was proved wrong smile I wondered which model Ford towing eye I needed, but apparently they are all the same from year 2000.
For the grand cost of £2 - I now have a towing eye.

I have a spare one in the tool package with the globes as well as the small short AM branded Phillips screw driver, slip me case of beer and tell me how to get it to u?

In my car I thought mine was missing when I got the thing?so dealer shipped me a new foam package with all the bits in it..... I lifted the rear parcel shelf and put it in, then a year later was exploring the boot and charge socket inspecting the pump and puncture kit.....

Well I feel like a doos

Somewhat off topic, but I rather think that any animosity towards whites has considerably more to do with decades of apartheid than 'just for being white'.
I've previously had a (white) South African girlfriend and spent a couple of weeks visiting her parents in Cape Town. One night they had friends over - I found the conversation quite shocking. The short summary would be : we give the black's jobs as gardeners and and maids and they still complain and commit crimes. How ungrateful can they be?

Apartheid might have ended, but in my limited experience of South Africa, racism is still alive and well.

.

mmmm yes we also give them the most senior jobs in cabinet.... aka Jacob....how has that worked for ALL South Africans ?? we have seen 23 years of handouts and BEE but SA is still the joke in the eyes of the World...look at our best mate to Jacob Zuma, Robert M across the border, how has that worked, maybe better if these two examples I refer to were just gardeners...? at least then we would have something to eat and hand out. Problem is that the two i mention are not qualified to garden....

Before you derail a thread go and educate yourself PLEASE

Educate myself? Do you not see the huge irony in a white person in South Africa complaining about what happens 'just for being white'? For quite a long time in recent history, they did pretty damn well for no other reason than 'just being white'.

There was absolutely no reason for that statement in your original post, so let's not get too carried away about 'derailing the thread'.

I was told by the scrap yard that sold me mine that all Ford towing eyes are the same after 2005, so any fit. The first we tried fitted perfectly.
