Hehe, that's the bed from my fiancé's old house, it's a queen size and looks tiny when laid on top of the super king in our bedroom.
As an aside, I am seriously considering trying to make a go of it as a professional developer/landlord. I've weighed things up and perhaps think I would enjoy it more (certainly in terms of lifestyle) and perhaps be more successful than I might in my current career. Could any of the pros on here offer any words of advice?

Do the work yourself or have a bloody good builder you trust. As an aside, I am seriously considering trying to make a go of it as a professional developer/landlord. Your quite capable of doing most of the work yourself it seems so i'm sure you'll be fine.
If you want a job doing right, do it yourself!
Looking good though muncher.
On a side note - does the washing machine door open the other way to the spin dryer? that would annoy me slightly.

We have some good tradespeople to hand and some great ones, there's not many areas where we are lacking. If all else fails I can do a fair amount myself, although I wouldn't want to start off doing it that way if I could help it.Your quite capable of doing most of the work yourself it seems so i'm sure you'll be fine.

Yeah they do open in opposite directions, never mind!
Downstairs toilet plumbed in, just a couple opf bits of skirting left to put in, a little tidying of the floor and eventually some coloured glass splashback behind the sink.
Kitchen sink, taps and waste disposal unit plumbed in
The first stage of the lowered ceiling over the island is done, it will be edged in 6mm flexible plasterboard and skimmed. A 110mm larger peice of 12.5mm board will be fixed to the underside with a small upstand to wide the LED tape..
First day where it has been warm enough to open up the bifolds!
Open wardrobes made in 25mm oak faced MDF, there will be 3 drawers at the bottom of the central section. To the left and right there will be two tiers of rails, the top ones going right to the ceiling and cantilevering down.
Lastly we are making a start on the two tiered ceiling in the dining room.
My uncle is back today to finish off all the kitchen electrics, which pending the fridge arriving this week might mean we can think about spending a bit more time there from next week onwards.

Is that the bowling green through kitchen windows? If so, that's going to be awesome for washing the dishes!
Love the ceiling mirroring the work surface...
Yeah, it is starting to look really good now, someone is there for a few hours every single day tending to the grass without fail. We may lower that fence a little or put railings up to get a better view.Love the ceiling mirroring the work surface...

Fantastic thread, Muncher...
Please please please look after your floor.
I look at this thread everyday and all I see is cardboard under things, you've spent loads please don't spoil it. Get some corex or something more protective, unless you going for the rustic look, than I'll shut up..
Is it oiled or lacquered?
Alex, what oil would you recommend to further protect the floor? Please please please look after your floor.

Osmo (Polyx) Hard Wax Oil. Have been using it for years..Can you find out what they finished it with at the factory as may recommend another, just thinking forward if there is an issue with the floor in the future.
First night in the house for us tonight!
The fridge arrived yesterday and has been fitted. The staircase glass came at the weekend, the dressing room is complete apart from 3 drawers that need to be made and is being painted with the final coat today.
There are still lots of big jobs to do, the concrete worktops need to be cast, the bed needs to be made, the under stairs storage needs to be made and the drop down ceiling needs to be done. Aside from that there are lots of finishing touches and painting still to be done.
Wren delivered a few more bits but we are still waiting on several bits of the kitchen 11 weeks after it was first delivered. LightwaveRF still haven't delivered any switches to myself or tonker despite placing our order in early December.

Kitchen stuff in, still no idea where it all goes! Most importantly the cats are in too.
The sofas came in stock and had to be picked up, so I hired a van and also retrieved a whole load of office furniture I got free from work, some will go in my office, some will be sold. All a bit full now!
Wardrobes in, you can tell who has more clothes!
First night curry on deckchairs!
