They are LEDs so not overly bright, just about right. We spent ages looking for one for the hall and thought we had got it nailed, it's not exactly cheap either. There isn't anywhere else it could go, the only other pendants are two in the dining room and one over the kitchen island and it's not right for either of those. I will play around with it and see if I can make it work...
Not normally found in this forum but I saw the length of the thread so had a quick skim through and have to say...
I LOVE the hall lights, they are awesome and look brilliant. Keep them..!
They are unusual and quirky, better than boring spotlights or them one that are in the ceiling (not the technical term) or even a chandelier (and I see enough of them out here in the Middle East...every bugger has one).
Just my 2 dirhams worth.

Love the floating look. Built from scratch by your dad or a precut oak?
It's all built from scratch by my Dad, about 2 days work, I didn't do any of the work on it other than all of the design, planning and getting the materials. It is essentially a softwood frame made from 250mm wide timber on the base which has several cross sections much like a stud wall. This is then clad with 18mm solid oak, but to be honest is rarely seen. On top of that is a larger frame which is around 150mm wide, similar construction but with mitred corners and beveled edges. The overhang is around 300mm all round. It's is then just topped off with MDF and oak faced and edged MDF for the bedside tables which are supported by the bed so do not need to be fixed to the wall.
It probably cost around £350 in materials which is not bad for a super king size floating bed and two bedside cabinets.
Blimey, 3 weeks since an update!
It seems like progress has slowed but we are certainly getting there, mainly lots of finishing off jobs, going from one room to another, plus an awful lot of "moving stuff about".
- the moulds for the concrete worktops have been made, they just need some sealing and hopefully we will cast them on Monday.
- The kitchen has been tidied up a bit, plinths fitted on the wall units, infill panels fitted, doors even leveled up, ovens fixed in position, broken oven fixed under warranty. Still no word from Wren on the missing bits.
- Lots of final coats of paint and tidying up done, sockets and cat6 points fixed in 3 rooms, as well as LED wall cubes. This is all quite time consuming.
- The headboard is half way there. That's a whole load of swimming pool "noodle" floats sliced in half on the benchsaw, wrapped in cream leather and stuck to a board, to be framed in oak.
- The under stairs studwork has gone in and will be boarded tomorrow ready for plastering.
- The underside of the kitched island ceiling feature has been plastered, but we are yet to do the edges, which might be quite tricky.
- The carpet has been ordered and we can start to fit out some rooms from 2nd June.

Yeah no problems with them so far. 80% of my day to day clothes are stored on the bottom level so I don't have to full them down that regularly but they seem fine, the action is smooth. They just need a little nudge upwards and the spring action just pulls it back up.
Thanks for that, you probably don't have seller details to hand. Would you know if they work with ikea pax frames? (100cm wide)Yeah I probably do, I will dig them out when I'm not on my phone. They should be fine at that width, they are adjustable for width, very easy to fit.
The hall light is a sore one! I cable tied the wires up to see what effect shortening them would have, better, but not right. I may shorten the leads and hang them all directly in a tiered pattern rather than pegging them to the ceiling. It's not looking good but I may salvage it. The wall cubes are up and look good but we probably should have put in a secondary lighting circuit for them but never mind!
