I must admit I do like that fascia board. You're giving me ideas. No worries about it turning white over the years to come?

Also - hip irons? Soffit vents?

It should be UV stable so will last a while! No hip irons as the hip tiles are nailed on and no soffit vents are required as its a hybrid warm roof.

There's always that awkward moment when you are demolishing it and you realise you are standing on the bit that will fall down...

Things have moved on a little but I can't show you as I'm in bed with a collapsed lung probably about to go into hospital for a week for a chest drain :/

Get well soon Muncher.

Some good news, they didn't admit me, there has been some improvement, so I'm safe to rest at home for now.

I called in on the way back from the hospital and grabbed a few pics.

The corbelling has been re-done to reflect the actual line of the roof.

The new chimney is now high enough to allow the lead to be put on.

The slopey bit of roof

The lead valley

More tiles on

A couple of panoramic shots which came out quite well from iOS6.

Will the flat/valley section be done in actual lead or a lead replacement product?

It's actual lead, will be slightly happier once the scaffolding comes down!

Fantastic news thumbup now, stop clambering all over the scaffold and go and put your feet up, like the doctor advised you to do smile the photos, though appreciated, will wait. biggrin

Oh and, the corbelling, tiles and lead-work are looking good!

Respect to your Architect on the brickwork 'detailing', nice to see some proper queen cuts etc in there smile

There must be some high code lead going in that valley?

Code 5 or 6 I believe jules, it's certainly pricey. The brickwork is looking good, a number I people haven't even realised its an extension at the back which is good.

Which is a compliment to whoever 'designed' it. I'd be happy to put my name on it, attention to detail means everything when extending such a lovely manor smile

As an aside. Yep. It must be thick lead. The laps are combined in the steps so the thin stuff = lots of steps and a very wide gutter at the high end!
