Don't. We've done the lack of windows discussion!

Looking good. The Tomb looks longer than the house! Fitting out the internals would be the fun bit for me ... racking, bench etc. Or is that all going to be upstairs? We're you having a lift? I guess not otherwise it'd be fitted already. I wonder if not, why you needed the height downstairs ... ?

Maybe it was discussed earlier in the thread, sorry if I missed it.

It's a very similar length to the house, but the house is twice as wide.

I haven't really thought too much about the fit out, other than at the rearmost wall I will have a custom workbench made from wood and a sink in the corner. The upstairs is already fitted out with a lot of storage (all my tools up there at the moment) and the less frequently used stuff will reside up there permanently, keeping the whole of the downstairs apart from the bench, pretty much free.

I am putting in a 2 post lift, I just haven't bought it yet.

My feeling is that it's going to be phenomenally bright in there.... downstairs alone there are 18x 48W LED panels plus a further 6 72W ones on the walls at low level.

You might be surprised.

My main living space is an open plan, vaulted ceiling room. It's lit by a total of ~1700W and feels pretty dim at some times.

All the cladding is now on apart from the side door and a strip above the main door so the scaffolding can finally be dropped, almost a year after it went up! Really pleased with the final finish, it was fairly expensive, and took a lot longer to fit than I anticipated but it's worth it.

That'll be hard, back-breaking work, toxic. But incredibly rewarding if you can a lot of it yourself. Just have a plan. Write lots down, sub-divide those things into things to get done and tick them off when done. Make a list of materials and if you can, buy them IN ONE GO from a supplier who know they'll be competing for the work. Could save a fair bit. THen all delivered in one go - if you have the space.

Then get stuck in. Summer is over halfway through through though, so get on with it!

That exterior is looking very good Muncher, was wondering when we'd see an update. Where are we on the inside?

Thanks. The inside hasn't really changed, my priority is to get the patio finished and the lawn sieved (a massive task) and levelled so that I can sow grass seed in the first week of September just before I go away on holiday for 2 weeks. I can finish the inside pretty much at my leisure over the winter or in the evenings once we start to lose daylight. I will probably also do the driveway before the inside.

As it's inside it can wait as you say if you have more pressing stuff outside, lawn etc. I'm impatient to see how that lighting comes out though!

Heath Robinson style chute for loading soil into the electric sieve with the digger, as yet untested!

How much soil has you got to get through?

Is it not bob-a-job-week yet? School hols, it might be ...

Edit: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2050712/Sc...

Report says: Instead of offering to wash cars or mow lawns for a shilling, the new ‘community week’ will see Scouts offering help to hospitals, care homes or volunteer groups or even sift soil ....

I might have added the last bit.

Mind if I befriend you on fb Muncher? I cannot access your photos without being a friend it seems because when I go on your profile. it doesn't show any albums at all.

Or even better would be a way of getting all your pictures back up on the thread. I am doing something probably 2/3 of the scale of yours in a year or two and this thread would make a very useful reference point.

Sure, I keep meaning to put all the photos in a proper album as a lot of the links no longer work.

Did you interrupt someone's game to take the photo from the club? wink
