I do a walk every so often past it too. Sometimes stop off at The plough.
Good walks around there, can never figure out the damn woods though, always get lost!
never liked PR though, Amersham was nicer.
Did you ever use the Architect FJ? how's the old neighbours

No to architect as got more of a planning consultant to start with.
If the neighbour you are referring to is a certain femail pop band member you sold your last development to, then let's just say she has reduced her visits to the pub! I'm not surprised the last bloke was a loser, saw him in there once and........

So if Gerrards Cross is the jewel in the Crown, what Denham like? It's even closer to London?

That's Chalfont St Peter not Denham. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope... (nice and been on for ages!)

It's too close to London - a pretty village but bounded by the M40 and assorted dual carriageways, so a little island in a sea of concrete. Better to be a bit further out - GX or Beaconsfield; the trains will also be more frequent than to Denham, and faster, because the Denham train is often an "all stations".http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope... I am not telling you where I live in Bucks. It is to nice and secluded I don't want to be swamped!
Lol
On the very edge of Bucks boarder, I could throw a stick and hit two other counties, village, 400 people, 30 kids at the local school, canal, lakes & under an hour to London.

Well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to discover that you live in a village beginning with M on a road beginning with V.Lol

I love that area and if it had slightly better links to London I would move there in a flash
Yep nice place. Rickmansworth is another option for you as that's on the Met line. I work near Gerrards Cross and spent most of my southerner life around that part and the Chalfont's. Lovely place. Expensive mind, but if you're on London wages you might be ok. HS2 is a worry depending where you buy so keep your eyes out and avoid Denham.

Not in a bad area at all. Could do a lot worse. That area is quite wooded and you're off the main road at least.Nice, but miles from anything. Nice floorplan too...
If you plan to cycle to the station, there is a steep valley in the way
your search seems more guided by the allure of a trophy property that maxes at your 2m budget.. if you advise on what is important then you might get more insight... ie if you are looking at schools and are considering non fee paying then its a huge factor as most of the decent schools are massively oversubscribed from within the catchment itself...
you also need to decide how long you are prepared to commute and what you are prepared to spend per annum on the commute ie rail fare ( >2k) plus parking (500-1500k)unless within walking distance etc etc

My place is for sale, in Hazlemere - 5 bed Berkeley Homes built detached with double garage on a private road by the woods yet just off the A404. 50% discount on the same property in Beaconsfield. Oh, and you get a seat on the train in the morning commute at Wycombe station while all the rich folk in Beaconsfield and GX have to stand (more train choices too as it is a fast train stop).
I live in Amersham which is probably the best reason to avoid the place!
Seriously though, in South Bucks, I think you'd be hard pushed to find a small town with a comparable cross section of facilities / transport links / good schools across all ages and "reasonable" affordability than Amersham.
All IMVHO of course.
The other places mentioned here, Penn, Missenden, Wendover, Chalfonts etc are all very very nice though.
...but they don't have an Aston Martin dealership to drool over like "we" do.
