So does such a wet summer mean there's less wasps this year then?

Top story. Many of us have been there just not told it so well.
I've often returned to the telly after such a heroic battle with a nest of killer wasps expecting the other half to worship my manliness and all I get form the Mrs is "Well done dear" in that patronising manner

A lot of the replies made me really chuckle as I have had 2 infestations of wasps nests in my loft coming down through my spot light gaps in the bathroom ceiling, and mainly down the one right above the loo!!!!!!! It was very disconcerting, but as a creature lover I was loathe to kill them But after 2 weeks of going to the bathroom with a towel over my head I decided they had to go and called in the local exterminator, with a heavy but soon to be relieved heart. The nest was the width of my 5foot 10" brother's out stretched arms, who unlike me was enthralled with the wonderful sight of it, which made me guilty again at all the wasp's hard work and skill ( me being a caring female, of course) The new Queen overwinters in a small fist size nest she has made herself and about March, she awakes and gives birth and they quickly grow into her slaves and increase the size of the nest - so the pictures seem to be the Queen's . I cannot help though in how to get rid of it without calling in the experts

Are you still running durbster said: Do not spray into face.
I'm sure since your plan was to kill the wasps - you weren't too fussy to miss their faces were you.
