What the OP missed in his opening post, and makes it even better, is that the *actual* reason for burning the shed down was just to remove the bench vice from the shed. Taking the inverse route, namely removing the shed from the bench vice, is a stroke of genius.

Which I think gives him an unassailable lead in the '2012 PH Overkill Competition'. Bravo sir.

I'd have done the same, fire is so useful! I think my ring might have been twitching a little with the proximity of those trees but that's what hoses are for smile

You can probably expect much of the surrounding foliage to die back soon as it will have been killed by the fire/smoke.

Many years ago when I still lived my parents their next door neighbour decided it was time for the stables built by his predecessor to go. Out came the crowbar, sledge hammer etc but of course a stable is designed to keep a horse in, and tend to be well built with 6 inch nails etc.

So the standard demolition route was quickly abandoned. Being a stable it was still full of straw, so a match was struck. Minutes later it was a roaring inferno. Neighbour had his hose out spraying it on his house, where the wooden windows were scoching, my parents had their hose trying to prevent the shed going up.

Then there was the discovery that the roof was made from asbestos sheet which was happliy exploding!

A great day!
