Afternoon,
I'm thinking of using railway sleepers to finish off our patio edge and make a step. The patio is about 4m sq so I'll need 10 or so (2.4m lengths) anyone know of a good source, near Cambs?
Cheers
D

Where ever you get them from, go and have a look at them. Just had 13 delivered (£24 grade 1 reclaimed oak), but made sure I picked out the good ones from the cracked, split, rounded ended ones. Although I think the timber yard guy wasn't too happy with me!

Not great for steps as very slippy in the wet.

I understand you need to watch out for tar/creosote leaking on hot days if you get the old used ones.
