Does your council charge for DIY waste?
Discussion
I've never really understood the logic in forcing people away from authorised waste stations. The waste carrying licence is responsible for a good deal of the fly tipping you see and now if councils charge residents they will only do the same. I suppose Hillingdon probably assume folks will go out into the country to dump and the problem will be Berkshires or South Bucks !

Wealden (in East Sussex) supply us with 2 wheelie bins, one for green waste, one for other waste, and each one is emptied fortnightly. Anything that goes in the right bin is taken.
The Household Waste site takes anything however there is a restriction on rubble, soil and hardcore which is 6 bags a month and asbestos which is 2 bags a month. Mind you not sure how they know if you have brought in more than the limit!

Just hide it in your wheelie bin between bags of normal rubbish, they won't check..... unless a curtain rail jams the lid open as it tips up and spills the contents of the bin over the road
HahahahaJust like me!!
I have two bins, one by the house and one by the garage and swap them over all the time. Buliders wate, car parts, it all goes in there. Dustmen found some garden waste sticking out of one and said he didn't care less!!
You just have to be sure it is covered up.

No doubt the good citizens of Hillingdon are travelling over the border in to South Bucks to do just this
I spent an hour today with the chainsaw and the wood chipper clearing up after just such an incident! Unfortunately there was no evidence of an address on this occasion. When there is I have a special way of dealing with the situation H.
Not in Solihull - its free.
They have recently banned commercial vehicles (previously you got 12 visits a year) but luckily my pick up is a 5 seater which is allowed.
I went to Bristol and found they have very low height restrictions to stop vans but I presume the workers there take bungs as they were helping a very large sign written commercial unload by throwing it over the fence when I went there a couple of years ago.
Seems silly to charge / make it hard as then fly tipping increases and that costs loads more to deal with.

Mine does, but only on specific items and the first three items a month are free...
