Completion is normally a month after exchange. Need a year here. 2 weeks for legals and 11½ months to move

Lots of potential there, not sure why the ad states that it's not for a DIYer though, doesn't look that bad to me though I'd want to move a couple of walls and bathrooms around. Not a bad price for a penthouse in Leeds, though I'm not familiar with the quality of the area that it's in.

"lots of potential" for the new owner to get lots of grief, I would expect, because people are STUPID. As for the OP's post, yep, saw it in another thread, but to Gallardoguy's comment, perhaps the man of the house is the former who likes that stuff? "Do ye loike dags?"

Not a bad price for a penthouse in Leeds, though I'm not familiar with the quality of the area that it's in. by the looks of those carpets you'd probably have to rip out the entire interior to get rid of the remnants of cigar smoke

See this has sold. Not surprisingly for less than asking…. But, depending which way you look at it for a good price. I recall when next door sold for £500k

We had a job on at a house that from the outside looked ok, but inside had black velour lined walls (battens over lined stud walls, and then the covering glued onto the battens). In the dining room it was double height, with a mirrored wall in the dining room, and then looking up it had a textured black ceiling...
Outside, the house name sign was neon... We had our suspicions as to its previous uses.
Bizarrely, some stuff had been done really well when it was built, and other things done really craply. It had a suspended timber floor and, when the floor finish and insul were removed, it revealed a really well poured oversite concrete. Yet the wiring just looked like someone had thrown it in there... There was also some interesting flashing work, with a bit of flashing that came out of the wall (as flashings do!) and turned 90 degrees upwards, so inviting any water to leach into the wall.
