Try finding a Kennedy one - roller bearings rubber lined drawers no complaints about the quality and cheap as chips too

Unless I want to move the stuff regularly, I'd rather just put up boards on the garage wall and hang everything from nails or Terry clips. Far easier to see at a glance what I want rather than trying to remember which draw it's in.
2 sheets of plywood and a box of nails £15 and everything has its place. nothing is on top of anything else. takes up no floor space. I would much rather have it like this.

Great! I kinda like it for it's ease of use and yet I don't cos it looks untidy! biggrin

But then my garage is worse ...

It doesn't need to look tidy, it needs to be practical, find the right spanner when you need it.

I do like the idea of seeing your tools and have them in their own designated place but for some reason a tool board to me looks untidy and reminds me of something I botched together at work to hang tools and make it obvious when some had not been returned.

Tool cabinet etc would suit my needs much better and fit in with my work bench but without my tools taking over the garage.

Morning All,

Agree - Snap-On's the way to go - not cheap though...

Have also found some good stuff at BigDug, and while they don't do tool chests yet, well worth checking out the huge range of storage equipment at http://www.ezrshelving.com/

Cheers...

tool boards have three places where they are needed

Schools , prisons and certain aerospace settings

the first two is to account for your pointed instruments before dismissing a class and the third is due to very much higher risks of tools left in place in aero settings

Story about Air Cadets visiting an RAF engine bay whilst maintenance work was being carried out.

Sticky fingered cadet 'borrows' small tool during tour. Engine had to be partially stripped down to look for missing tool before realising cadets had visited and some kid gets a bking.

I have this one from Halfords. Ball-bearings in the runners and has proved entirely sufficient for my hobbyist requirements over the last couple of years. And it was only a couple of hundred quid.

6 years into owning this one thumbup good see they're still doing it smile

These are my two, the red one is at home now full of my bike tools. The Black one is still at work and earns its keep every day.

I fancy one of these Hazet jobbies though for mobile jobs around work

That was at my last place I worked. Was very nice to work in.

My new place I've been at for 6 months is state of the art. Love it here!
