We've bought three paintings, one a year, all by the same local artist, at an annual art show that is held in a town a few miles from here.

That's what I would advise people interested in having nice pictures to do, seek out a local art show and go and see if there is anything there that they fancy. We particularly like the ones we have bought and will be going to the show this year to see if there are any more that we like as much.

A Doug Hyde, a personal message written to the other half and signed by him when we collected it. And a Duncan McGregor. The rest is cheaper stuff we've got on holidays wtc.

Got a panoramic photo canvas of the sea front of my home town. It's nearly three metres wide and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it :-)

I've got a few laser cut steel portraits in my living room. Dave Grohl, Pete Doherty and Kelly Jones - I was a bit quiet in work one day, so designed it, and got it cut and powder coated :-) Everyone who comes round comments on them... although most don't know who they are

Various prints of 'street art' (think French Banksy's), a couple of Edwyn Collins bird pictures (drawn as part of his physiotherapy after his strokes) and lots of arty photos by the missus. This was our most recent 'big' purchase, an unnecessarily expensive lithograph print:

Got a lot, no particular single style: from the obligatory Banksy print to signed pencil drawings, huge original painting in my front room signed.

And...

A load of fantastic framed photography by some very talented PH'ers.

I love artwork, cant stand going to someones house and seeing bare walls.

Yep, this is what we do. We buy nice prints, photographs, and original artworks from local artists, nothing expensive, just stuff we like. I don't think we've paid more than 100 quid for anything.

Lots of Doug Hyde, Fabian Perez, Paul Horton, Mackenzie Thorpe, Joy Kirton-Smith & Nel Whatmore amongst others.

Many not framed, really should sell some on & get some more framed & hung!

Thanks, it's the only bit of 'art' that I've bought, cost ~£500 at auction a few years ago.

We've got loads of stuff around the house that's been handed down, don't like it much though -probably the reason why half of it Isn't up!
