Blimey. Been a while since the last post in here, and a touch of class desperately needed. What you can't see in the photo is that it's all covered in sparkles. Glorious.

We recently moved home and bought a few pieces from the local gallery but couldn’t find anything we liked to specifically put on one of the hallway wall so ended up asking an artist (Rozanne Bell) to create us a piece;

Still need quite a few more pieces, but no doubt we get them over time.
Very nice, I have a couple of small seascapes from her in the kids bathroom but need a large picture for the hallway and hadn't thought about commissioning something.

Only asking because I have no idea, but is it wise to hang pictures in bathrooms? Surely there’s an awful lot of moisture in the air from baths and showers - will it damage them?

A pair of photographs from Liverpool-based photographer, Caroline Benzies. They’re both atmospheric woodland shots, one from Formby woods, and printed giclee style on art board.

It's an absolute disaster for them. Last year I narrowly avoided damaging a piece of art that I'd hung above a radiator.

I think it very much depends on how valuable the art is and how susceptible to damage it is.

For a bog-standard print (no pun intended) it should be fine. For something special then probably less so.

Also it depends on whether you run your shower hot and shower for ages, and fill the bathroom with steam.

Now for something a bit different. Not one of these pieces cost more than a fiver. The 3D duck and two wooden frame chicken ones were around £3 each on ebay. The bird signs, every run we have has a (named) cockerel. Last night we lost our boy Dino, prompting me to take these. Every time we lose a boy the sign attached to their coop gets taken down, and put in the allotment summer house, along with the other bits of 'art'. I'm particularly proud of the nosy ex-commercial looking in to the camera that I took.

Just a bit of fun.

Glad. I'm rather fond of it, it's very sweet. A great fluke that it's a perfect size to wedge in to the inset where it lives.

Poor photo by me - reflective glass (photographer had them framed) combined with a house that has windows everywhere equals reflections.

Per the point above, these are hung above a radiator. I
Wouldn’t put anything one acrylic or oil over a radiator, but the only walls that don’t have windows do have radiators..!

The art is covered in resin so ought to be ok, if anything I would expect the frames to suffer from steam. They have been up for 3 years but aren't showing any issues yet

I don't suppose it was recent enough for an eBay item number to be useful?

Hung this in our downstairs loo. Printed on a square canvas. Taken from the bridge of sighs in Venice on holiday a few years ago.

This has just joined my growing collection of art stashed away in wardrobes and cupboard, patiently waiting to be displayed somewhere, eventually

That's a great pic. I have one Keith Haring in the house; I was skiing in Meribel maybe 25 years ago and there was a Haring on the wall in a bar. I really liked it but was too busy drinking to make a note about it, but it stayed with me when I got home so I tracked the bar's phone number down and called them to ask what it was, then ordered it. It's the one with a group of people in a line, all dancing.

Afraid not, sorry. We've had it at least 4 years, and as recently as 2022 I can only see description titles, click in and get the little child image and wording 'we looked everywhere'

It allows me to see descriptions back to 2017, so when I get 5 minutes I'll have a look in case this gives any clues.

No probs - I thought it worth asking. I bet Etsy has things of that ilk, but that duck is particularly charming for some reason.

I found it on ebay, only stated 'duck or goose picture needs TLC' seller hannahcoates. Just had a look at page one of her listings, can see no artworks. Unlikely, but if we ever move it on I'll post back on this thread if I don't remember your handle!

Unless, you have access to a 3D printer? I could loan (on the promise of a return) it you, if you take it apart carefully and scan the duck? The rest, wood, clear perspex, a square of hessian and some blue, yellow, black, orange, red and white paint, and voila.
