I have a couple of Brian Shields (Braaq) originals in pastel, a bit like this;
I met him a few times, he was a family acquaintance when I lived in Harrogate.
That's quite Monet-ish.I met him a few times, he was a family acquaintance when I lived in Harrogate.
Similar to his 'Lass in a windy Field' collection. Although I may have misremembered the exact name of the collection.

I've collected Robert Heindel & Charles Willmott ballet / dance works for some 20 years now. Started with Limited Editions then as finances improved moved onto Silkscreens and now several original drawings and a few oils.
Long since run out of wall space and have an evolving collection now which changes every few months. It never ceases to amaze me how I can see something 'new' in a picture, just by moving its position or hanging it in another room.
Charles Willmott Oils - Romeo & Juliet
Robert Heindel - Scottish ballet
Willmott / Heindel - Carmina Burana, Birmingham Royal Ballet
Robert Heindel - Rambert ballet "The Glitter Girls"
Imported this hanging system from Australia, which makes hanging/reorganising a doddle, and eliminates the need for hooks in walls.
Some lovely pics there. Checkout pictures by Fletcher Sibthorpe. Beautiful work and not dissimilar to those you are collecting already.Long since run out of wall space and have an evolving collection now which changes every few months. I will update this later today....
Basically, 8 pieces getting framed today.
All from Vietnam and Cambodia.
Most only a couple of quid and 2 that were quite expensive.
Also, a lovely photo from Des Ong http://www.desong.co.uk/
Haven't got room to put any up at the moment though!

It's the set of four. Was talking to the owner at Evergreen today and the artist is now doing commissions! I fancy a F1 driver or similar next

Great thread and some gems posted. Ive got quite a bit of art, but mostly in careful storage while the flat is renovated - I've 5 or 6 pieces at the framers at the moment, which hopefully will be back in the next couple of weeks.
I'm mostly into contemporary art which started out after getting interested in the whole street/urban art scene, most of which I've move on now, although I do still have a few pieces kicking around.

Just thought I'd bump this thread and extend it to sculpture.... just bought this fabulous Simon Max Bannister kudu - he's just so striking - still deciding on his final position on our courtyard but I think he fits really well with the mix of rural location and contemporary house / garden setting that we've got.
