reproduction of some George Rodrigue blue dogs

Shepard Fairy - war by numbers
Managed to upgrade my Rodrigue to a genuine print, won't be to everyones taste though.

I love having things that hold personal meaning on my walls. My father was an architect but died when I was quite young, I have a good number of his sketches framed and hung, they bring me great pleasure;

The family home he renovated:

I met the illustrator of the original Iron Man book (Andrew Davidson) on a ski holiday and he kindly sketched this message on a napkin, just had it framed;

Thank you EvoDelta,

Most poignant for me is on the front house elevation he has written my name; he drew them in 1979 when my mother was pregnant with me. So logically my mum says he was pondering my name and seeing how it looked written down...

Sadly nothing of interest to add myself other than a quick anecdote.

Met a client the other day at his house in London. I hadn't heard of him before he contacted us but Google tells me he is a very-well known artist in his chosen medium, globally well-known in fact.

After our conversation, he showed me around the place, some amazing pieces on the walls - a couple of double/treble height spaces with paintings hung everywhere, almost one on top of another. As a total art ignoramus, I asked him what they were and it transpired that he was a very good friend of Francis Bacon in the 70's and 80's, so much so that he was left 50% of Bacon's portfolio in his will...

Have photos but obviously can't post for client confidentiality reasons. What a sight though - can't help but wonder what his insurance premium is!!

After going to a 'meet the artist' soiree at the Dealers, even though we'd agreed not to buy anything we ended up buying this....

It seemed fitting as only a few days earlier I'd snapped the same view in person. smile

They chucked in a copy of the latest portfolio book....which is about the same as the crack dealer giving you the first one free. hehe

An old one has finally made it's way to the wall in the new house....
I've got one of those, unsigned. I've seen them change hands for £500 on that well know auction site.

Table £8, Toughened Glass £15, Stand off Pillars £2, 4 or 5 paint testers £5
A few hours chucking paint about on the back garden.
There's actually 2 of them in the living room, they match some of the paintings around the house. wink

Found these in a resturant auction and bought from a photo, not having seen them in real life. Bought them for not a lot and they turn out to be original, limited edition, signed prints from Chris McAdoo. Second picture is for idea of size. Just put in new extension that's why its a bit bare ! They had about 15 for sale, all different, should have a bought a couple more as I really like them.
