Right hopefully this might stay in GG for longer than 2 mins!.......

Shirley everyone has one of these in the garage & my old cheapo one has bust. But do I go premium?

I'm tempted by a stihl one simply as it'd look sweet next to my stihl leef blower, but it doesn't do anything more than the £100 jobs from b&q & halfords & to be fair to the cheapo one it lasted 6 years.

The only thing that did my head in on the old one was a hose that was a nightmare to store away (not bendy enough) & a lack of a patio cleaner. Not huge would be a bonus & I'm not sure if any of them come with a snow foam thingy, just a load of brush attachments that I'll never use.

Any tips?

I bought a £50 Nilfisk off Amazon and have to say its very good, I tend not to bother with expensive ones as you feel duty bound to fix them if they break, my thirty quid B and Q cheapy lasted 7 years of hard use and not looking after it in any way, shape or form.

Like J4CKO I had a cheap (£25) Sainsburys thing which failed after 4 years(lance fitting broke) so bought a £60 Nilfisk one during Amazon Black Friday sales.

Came with a patio cleaner which worked well on ours and seems to be well made - ask me again in 4 years if it's as durable hehe

I bought a Kranzle a couple of year ago. It was to replace a Karcher which gave up the ghost after a couple of years light use.

Massively over-engineered but probably OTT.

Too expensive as well.

That's the thing isn't it? I half expect the cheapo ones to last just as long as the expensive. The only bonus with stihl is I can get my local repair shop to fix it should it go tits up (probably for the cost of another cheapo one!).

Kärcher.

Herr Kärcher invented the pressure washer, you know smile

These people do factory refurbished Kärcher pressure washers.
This one is on sale, £58.94 delivered http://www.karcheroutlet.co.uk/products/product.as...

One of the benefits is that they tend to be repairable if something does break (I also buy bosch stuff, for the same reason).

Tesco were doing Karcher ones when I was in at the weekend for 1/2 price. Gutting for me as I bought one somewhere else for full price before Christmas!

Nilfisk here.

Didn't fancy the plastic pumps of the Karchers.

I don't like pointing out the obvious but if you're buying something more powerful make sure you don't aim it at your skin, specially if it can spray detergant. I now know 2 people who have been close to having limbs amputated from water injection injuries.

My current Karcher is a domestic model(series 4), has started to give up the ghost after just 3 years. I'm going to get one of their commercial models, the HD5/11c which are apparently a much stronger motor and longer lasting because my experience of Karcher domestic models has not been good.

Another Nilfisk vote here - got the c-110 (I think, £50 from Amazon). All I need to do the car.

I thought I'd killed it over Christmas when I accidentally ran it for a few seconds without the hose on. Switched it off, swore, checked on Amazon and found the same model with a patio kit was cheaper than the washer on its own! How does that work?

Anyway, went back out, gave it one more try and away we went! Been fine since.

Got a snow foam lance from www.CleanYourCar.co.uk. Works a treat.

Got a Nilfisk one in the Amazon sales at end of November. Very impressed with it. It has an alloy impeller in the pump, so should be more reliable. Came with patio cleaner and car cleanio attachments for £90. Came quickly with free delivery and Amazon usually have decent prices for them.

Had my karcher about 2years and it started leaking about 3 months ago. It still works but just pulses now trying to gain preassure when its not spraying.

Need a new one unless this is common and can be fixed
