Best Wifi enabled thermostat

The NeFit one looks good, would like a display panel for the Tado that could go on the dinning room wall and tell me what's been going on.
My central heating is out of action at the moment while I finish off some skirtings and bits of painting, it's been interesting seeing how the temperature responds when I put the wood burner on and the difference between using coal and using wood.

Not NeFit, but I now have a BG supplied and fitted Hive system to my two parallel boiler and hot water tank system.
Looks neat, looks like it is working. Not as aesthetically pleasing as some of the systems, but hey ho. If I look at the app while here at work I can see that the house is sitting at 19.8C (plus or minus usual tolerances), and the heating is due to come on at 1630 (or not if it is too hot).
So far so good.

Can anyone suggest what I need? I have an 'always on' boiler for water and a timer on that boiler for heating, although the recommendation is just to leave it on always and use the temperature control.
In the hall I have a manual Honeywell thermostat control, and I would just like to replace that with a WiFi/App controllable one. British Gas was here last week for a boiler issue (and were really good surprisingly) but didn't want to do Hive as it is supposed to control water as well as the timer.

Tado can have water always on, and then heating controlled via proximity to you (via your iphone). In the hall I have a manual Honeywell thermostat control, and I would just like to replace that with a WiFi/App controllable one. Although why you want to have water on all the time, I don't know! Seems expensive!

I am in similar need of some advice when it comes to thermostats.
The house i have just moved into has, what looks like, a good combi boiler. Its certainly capable of hot water in short time and at very good pressure.
So its hot water on demand and heating on demand. Thing is, there are real controls on the boiler front itself. There is a blanking plate which looks like it was probably for a control knob or something. The boiler is controlled via RF using a battery powered wireless thermostat. Its a bit funky like, the thermostat box has one of those mechanical sounding timer wheels where you click the tabs out for the times you want it on or off.
Given thats how it works and there is no hardwire to the boiler... can I even have a NEST or other smart WiFi thermostat?
nPower are currently offering a free NEST and install if you sign up to their "intelligent" tariff. I am tempted.

What boiler is it? There is an on/off interface to it somewhere, usually a receiver for the RF thermostat - you'd replace this with the Tado Box, and then it would fire up the system as needed. The house i have just moved into has, what looks like, a good combi boiler. Only watchout I can think of is if its the boiler manufacturer's make, so the RF receiver is inside the boiler. But I'm sure this can be done.

It is water on demand, and pretty efficient I'm led to believe. Could be wrong! It definitely does not like to be switched on and off, so it is a thermostat control only that is needed.Although why you want to have water on all the time, I don't know! Seems expensive!
mines set for 18.5 at the moment but i turned it on last night and upped it to 20 as i was cold but also under a blanket and had a jumper on so then i was too warm and turned it back down
had an issue though yesterday as the location thing said the wifes phone was at home all day so was ready to heat if it needed to do it BUT she is 250 miles away and has been gone since saturday morning !
its ok this morning though. and now sat at 17.7
oh anyone know when the windows mobile app is out ? they told me October but want to check if anyone knows any better than a rough month

That's what my wife would do. Whack it up to full (as it must heat up quicker if you do that) then moan it's too warm.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
