Best Wifi enabled thermostat

Tado v2 installed, no need to call support to resync which is good, did need to reboot my router before the bridge would work but I can cope with that! A bit fiddly, but massively massively easier than the last one - they've redesigned the extension box to be much more suitable for UK mains switched systems. Only hard bit was getting the box to lock in place properly!
Immediately fired up the heating, don't know if that means it's more sensitive or just chance! Will report back once I've seen how this new one performs. Also need to decide where to put the thermostat! Although easier to move it around now if I want.

I too recently installed Tado v2 and find it more responsive than v1, i.e. looking in reports, when heating comes on to maintain temp, it's not on for as long as it was previously - so it would appear everything is communicating/acting quicker.Immediately fired up the heating, don't know if that means it's more sensitive or just chance! I also found the extension box a bd to lock in place!
My Tado has gone down - I have been working on the electrics today and have had the power off. In doing so it would appear the gateway has lost its ability to connect to my router. Nothing I do seems to help - I've tried powering everything off, unplugging, different Ethernet cable, reset router to factory settings, leave it unplugged for an hour!
So no hot water for us today grr

As you have V2 - you should be able to manage everything (heating & water) via the smart thermostat? So no hot water for us today grr
Or is it the thermostat & extension kit are not talking to each other (in addition to the link not working)?
When I installed V2, it took ages for the extension kit to sync - I had to hold down the button on the top of the extension kit numerous times (I held down the button until it flashed rapidly, then leave, then try again). I suspect you've been frustratingly doing this but just mentioning my experience.
Plus, there is a bug with the smart thermostat, the display can indicate it's disconnected when in fact it's connected - I've been told by tado this is going to be addressed with an update.

This is the gateway at the router - flashing router light and no internet light. Extension box has gone back into non-synced mode. I've tried over riding with the thermostat but that seems to be disconnected. I'll try again thoigh based on what you saidOr is it the thermostat & extension kit are not talking to each other (in addition to the link not working)?

Currently wondering how dangerous it would be to manually bridge the HW/ Heating connections in the backplate if I took the extension box off the wall. It is bloody freezing after all!!
Anyone tried a cosy home yet http://www.comehometocosy.com/cosy/
Been offered it if I fix with first utility

Tado doing my nut in
Wife's phone is broken so she had to use home mode the button on the box great heating came on, I came home it said it turned to home mode as I'd come in great its swapped to auto or so I thought, we go to bed wake up its hot very hot the heating has been on all night as it seems it doesn't cancel manual home mode when you come in. When I pressed the home button to turn it back to auto or so I thought it turned it off and put it into manual mode so it wouldn't have come on even when I'd come home tonight. Their response its supposed to do that! Bloody stupid operation

If you are sensible, it will be fine. I'd do mine with a spare light switch.
I would leave the Tado alone and wire a light switch in directly at the boiler. Have a look at your boiler instructions, you'll likely find that there's two connections to turn the heating on and off. One is live, when the switch is closed it makes the other one live and it's this that controls whether the heating is on or not. A length of flex and a light switch will give you a permanant manual overide if you ever need it. Thinking about it I might even add one to my setup as the app is sometimes too much work for the boss.
Your switching is either mains voltage or lower voltage (are most 12v?), there's two different Tados. If you have a low voltage setup then you can use much lower-rated wires and switches.

My system is a Honeywell Sundial wired Y-Plan. Therefore the only practicable place to wire this in is in replacement to the programmer box. Doing anything else risks bypassing something which shouldn't be (e.g. the cylinder stat!)Thinking about it I might even add one to my setup as the app is sometimes too much work for the boss.

So in order to bypass and provide hot water and heating, required me to use a 2way switch, with the Hot Water Control into one and then Hot Water Off, Heating on into another. Its a bit complicated. But, it did work, and I used the boilers loop temp to control things. Seems to be working ok.
Bit annoyed the replacement gateway STILL hasn't turned up after 4 days (hopefully later today but I have my doubts!) Bit ridiculous given the outage which they say is unusual.
