Stained glass needs more red, the hall is green and red is the opposite colour so wiil help reduce the cooling effect of the green. Just my 10p's.

Amazing thread by the way :-)

I've just read this from the beginning, much to the evident irritation of wife and inlaws. Very inspirational and has focused me on realising my dream that the next house is one needing restoration, albeit on a much smaller basis.

Can I ask how you found this property, I presume you didn't look on Rightmove!

Whichever one you choose don't let them use Times Bold.

Genuine question, what type face would you suggest?

or to really annoy the postie, use wingdings...

Whatever you choose it will look amazing - puts my efforts to shame although I do sit behind a desk most of the day...

Hi all,

Apologies I've not been able to get many updates done recently, been mad busy at work!

Managed to get some work done on the main entrance hallway, woodwork painted, walls prepped and new cornice , dado and picture rail fitted and then some wallpapering ready for painting. Took bloody ages, as about 50m2 of walls to paper from dado to picture rail level. Also had to ply sheet the hall, tv room and dining room ready for new flooring. Took 30 sheets of ply, but made a big difference to the rooms.

Hallway now.

Also managed to get a few coats of paint on the utility room, sealed the t&g and started fitting out the utility room units. Got a good deal on some Howdens units in oak, so went with this to get it moving. Just got to get the worktops fitted, finish second fix wiring and connect sink etc. Space for washing machine and tumble dryer.

Dining room floor now laid, needs a clean and a Hoover though, dust absolutely everywhere!

And tv room done too! This is the next room for working on, as I've now had delivered the solid oak worktops, electric remote control tv lift with a 50" led tv, as well as the new electric 120" projector screen. Even the box is 3.2m wide! Wife not impressed!

Been working on my daughters ensuite in the evenings too, wanted to get the room finished, as not one bathroom was 100% complete! and bearing in mind my company I felt that I should get one completely done!

So, wet wall in shower, screen fitted, wall tiling done (not too bad, bearing in mind I haven't tiled a bathroom myself in about 4 years!) laid the karndean flooring and fitted the units and moulded sink unit. Not bad for an 11year olds ensuite!

That entrance hall is insane. Do mind me why I go off and have a little cry.

On another , what's the combined toilet/sink unit. Might fit in our bathroom refit (which looks like is smaller than your daughters refit #1stworldproblEms)

Sorry, only just seen this. Plenty of nice delicate serif faces about, that just looks too brutal to my eyes, especially bold, like something that's been knocked up in Word.

Maybe try Perpetua, Garamond, Goudy.
