While those radiators are a great spec (I have them in my house), is your man cave not crying out for a lovely wood burner as well?
The radiators are great for quick heat in what I presume will be more of an occasional room, but if you're planning to watch a film or having friends over, it'll be better with fire.
It's not something I think it will need as a) it's the top floor if the house so gets all the rising heat from the other floors, for example today is about 4deg outside and the only floor with any heat on is the first floor and both the bedroom floors and the loft are a fine medium temperature, enough to work in a t-shirt anyway. b) it's the most insulated room in the entire house and c) the Rads have their own electronic thermostat system and individual heat control zone, so I can chose if I want to hear this floor or not. It's also WiFi live so I could switch in the heating up here from the lounge on my iPad if I wanted or even from the pub before I come home , so pretty controllable. Finally d) I don't like it to hot!The radiators are great for quick heat in what I presume will be more of an occasional room, but if you're planning to watch a film or having friends over, it'll be better with fire.

The plans look great, remind me what the dimensions of the space are? It's making me look forward to tarting up my outbuilding when the weather warms up.

Which part of this build is about need?? I'm not sure you 'need' this floor at all!

That's a fair point! Gotta cap things at some point though. The plans look great, remind me what the dimensions of the space are? It's making me look forward to tarting up my outbuilding when the weather warms up.
The main room is approx 15m x 5.9m with the bar around 2.5 x 3.5m and the wc is a modest 2.5 x 1.2m. Something in the region of about 105m2 in total or about 1,130 sq ft. Either way all I know is that it costs a bloody fortune to carpet it!

Tapers started today, got the first fill and edge beads on. I'll tackle most jobs in the house, I can plaster a wall and I can tape a straight joint no problem, but doing a whole room is out of my skill set, or at least doing to a level I'd be happy with! So I've got a mate who runs a a decorating company to come in and do this bit for me, also need to crack on with the joinery so we can meet the carpet deadline!
Have wasted quite a lot of time over the last two days reading this from start to finish, this is an amazing build, great to see it coming together.
I'm sitting opposite a 5 foot aquarium which looks big in my front room, but your 6 footer looks tiny! I know that's a sensible size for marines, but in that house I would have been tempted to have a huge tropical tank with a nice group of frontosa cichlids or clown loaches (and see them grow to full size for once!)... or even a planted tank with hundreds of tetras, nice big angels and discus... the mind boggles!

Quick update, unfortunately for the house, I've been really busy at work recently, and time has been tight, but I've managed to get a day there today to working the bar! Gotta have some priorities in life!
So, the decorations started, as all the taping and prep work is done on the man cave, I fitted the skirtings recently, made hatch covers, window sills and fitted out the wc door, and associated wood work... Then onto the fun bit!
The units arrived yesterday, I decided on a gloss aubergine colour, which will go nicely with the solid wood Worktops I'm using. I've decided on Iroko for the Worktops, lovely dark and rich wood, so should look great against the gloss aubergine!
So units are in, and frame for the split level raised worktop bar area is built, next job is the Worktops followed by the wall units, which will be mirror back glass cabinets (with doors!) and TV area, wine racks and drink space. Then rgb colour changing led lights around the whole area, should look pretty cool!
Progress so far..

Griff Boy,
What a project!
Came across it as the missus & I are embarking on a renovation of our own, I've definitely picked up a couple of things I'll use!
Keep up the good work & please keep us posted!
Alex
Cheers Alex, any help I can give is no problem, although a lot of what I have learned has been done the hard way throughout the project! I'll watch out for the renovation thread! What a project!

Couple more updates on the bar! Taking longer than I thought as everything is off level! Typical georgian house, and all panels have to be scribed to both walls and floors, which is tedious, but ultimately satisfying.
Lower units are in, Worktops in, just waiting to be bolted up and sink but out. Next job is the high level of the two sets of tops which will form the actual bar area, then seal the wood and then I can start on the back wall, hopefully by mid week, as I've got to finish the worktop sealing before I can start on the other units, wine racks and tv points etc. And bearing in mind that the bar has just under 10m linear of worktop, that's not a 5 min job!
Worktops are solid Iroko and I'm thinking of putting an oak floor down, or possibly a karndean floor, haven't decided yet. The dishwasher is in and should be fitted next week, beer fridge is on order too. All the colour changing led lights are in, but they will take a while to install! I've got to router a rebate vertically up the insides of the wall cabinets in order to flush fit the lighting inside the units, fortunately with our supplier I can order the units dry assembled, so I can dismantle then to do this, then reassemble and glue them up!
Sparky managed to get some of the second fix work done, but still a fair bit more to do yet. Decoration should be 100% complete by then end of the week!
