I'm not sure what the competition was, but you just won!

Well played...

Although I may have to nominate the off centre scoreboard in the "things that annoy you beyond all reason" thread.

Looks absolutely amazing though - well done.clap

How do you get the table up there? In pieces? I've often wondered

Lol, it's equidistant to the cue rack and the window, but unfortunately the window isn't in the middle, which is something I couldn't do anything about!

The frame dismantles into a mill rio pieces and the top is made up of 5 x 180kg pieces of solid slate. And I can assure you the 4 men it took to carry them all up 4 flights of stairs were pushed, pushed a lot! It was a hard days work I can assure you. Took from 10:00 to about 16:30 to transport the table in full upstairs and rebuild it. Even the cushions are made up of a solid lump of steel, and I could only carry one up at a time!

It's then a big jigsaw puzzle to put it all together into something that resembles a snooker table!

I've got to say. It was classic old school skills needed to make the baize flat and without wrinkles.

Lol, cheers mate! But you wouldn't have been jealous of carrying the thing up there!

Just to make things worse, I fitted the 120" projector screen today too...... Looks great, and a about 3m wide makes a great impression!

Bleeding Heck Griff...

I struggle sometimes trying to work out the perspective of size on this build with just pictures of the room with nothing in them.

Now that full size tables in! Jebus! it's huge! (as she said)

Lol, it's weird, there are days when I walk around it thinking 'bloody hell!' And others where I think, 'oh, I've put some furniture/carpet/stuff in and it seems small' then someone comes in an works out there whole 2 bed flat would fit in the lounge... It's all relative I guess! The top floor needed an entire roll of carpet to cover it, 100m2 in total, and we were left with off cuts... But space around the snooker table is great, had a couple of practice frames last night and loads of room around it. Got to say though, I'd completely forgotten how huge a full size table is! Should be space for a TV / lounge area about 6m x 6m, the snooker area and another seating area in the middle in front of the bar, which us about 5m long as well. The bar is roughly 2.5m x 3.5m in total, which was a bit over the top, but I wanted a good overhang and bar stool area.

All the rooms on the 2nd floor are now completely finished, painted, carpeted and final fixed. There's a few snags on the first floor to work through, then I'm going to start in earnest on the ground floor. I was hoping to get some outside work done, but the weathers not great just now, snowing just now!

Hmm tough one, I hope to get the first floor snagged and complete in the next 2-3 weeks. The ground floor is another kettle of fish, it's the whole first floor replicated underneath, so it's going to take me a fair few more months to complete that. But the rest of the house is fully liveable now, and once the snagging is done then I can say that 3 of the four floors will be 100% complete.

Bit of a lack of info recently, been working hard on the house, but have concentrated on the snagging lists. I went round and snagged 4 pages of little bits and pieces on the top three floors, then set to work finishing them over the last couple of weeks! Unfortunately, nothing PH picture worthy! Snags include final painting, little trims not fitted, base of cupboards fitting, vents getting installed, vent covers outside etc etc etc

Work, worth mentioning, includes finally getting the flue fitted for the multi fuel stove! Had three small burns now, just to break the stove in and get it seasoned before it's needed in anger! Went for a 11kw version, which does heat the room well, but no overly, which is good.

All the interior pull outs now fitted in the kitchen, pull out bin system, storage racks and various internal storage access systems. Trouble is the kitchen looks identical!

One change has been the finishing on the kitchen side of the fish tank. I wanted a solid oak trim, but not too big, as I wanted it to copy the framing panels on the kitchen. So I was limited to 50mm wide.. Which wouldn't cover the gap around the tank. So, I ended up machining some solid oak panels from 95x20 oak, and rebating a strip of 9mm ply in the back of the oak, which was them wallpapered and painted to match the wall. This gave a string frame, with a subtle back piece but a minimal looking trim around the tank.

Few pictures...

Before with the frame, polystyrene base and fitting gaps visible.

The frame, with attached, rebated ply based purple trim section

And in place.

Other work has been stripping out the last bits of flooring, walls and various switches, pipes and odds and sods on the ground floor ready to start work downstairs..

A few pics of how it stands now.

The ground floor hallway

And with flooring lifted.. Sounds like nothing, but took two of us almost half a day! Hardboard stapled down, with vinyl on top, and then plywood with glued carpet on top... Was a total bas###d!

The left hand room..

Right hand rooms, currently my workshop

All carpets, curtains and voiles etc are now fitted on the second and top floor. Blinds are in the main, ensuite and wc rooms, just finishing touches to do, and about 1 page of the snag list!

Getting there! Slowly....

Oh, and lesson for the day, never clean out the dust around a 12" table saw without metal butchers gloves on! Looks like I've been through a meat grinder... And yes, it was switched off! [url]
