Ah but flushing away an otter with a Grohe cistern is a fun thing in itself biggrin

But seriously, you use a toilet several times a day and it lasts for decades so you may as well make it nice. Mine are built in but about £40 each.

As others have said, you'll need a new diaphragm in the syphon. Cheap and simple enough to change.

Although if you do want to replace the syphon, fit one of these....

The main assembly can be lifted out without dismantling the cistern.
