Hi Guys,

Thanks for asking Ali - it's great to be here at last.

Finally moved in around 6pm Wednesday. We've been emptying boxes since then smile

The house is not totally finished - the builders will be here for about another 2 weeks finishing outside and the garden - but it's close.

I found my camera last night in a box so will take some pictures today and this evening and post up tomorrow.

Cheers, Gary

Here are a few quick ones from today - still trying to clean so not much time to do a proper job yet smile I'll post some better ones as soon as I get a chance.

I've got the pendant lights, they just need to be installed along with the kitchen ones - hopefully next week.

Hi Vex,

All from Porcelenosa.

They are the PAR-KER Oxford range (which is a wood plank lookalike). The actual tile in the kitchen is PAR-KER Oxford Acero and the bathrooms are Oxford Antracita.

From today....

Builders toilet still here until they finish (or maybe a new trend in outside loo!!

I'm using a wide angle lens so the pics are a little distorted - this is a 6ft wide bed to give you some idea of size.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Not sure about coffee table.

(I'm trying hard to find something that I don't like there).
Funnily enough, the coffee table will be going smile I've had it for about 15 years and it does not 'go' in the new house.

Likewise the dining chairs - they are high backed so block out the fireplace!

First world issues smile

When you have a minute, would you mind taking a close up picture of the joint between the fireplace tiles themselves. (maybe they are not tiles, but typing 'covering' sounds weird).

Thanks
Here you go! They come in 'tiles' of 10x40 cm. You buy a special corner pack which has the interlocking 'fingers' (or you can mitre a flat tile but it looks more 'man made' that way. The trick is to stagger the joins as you lose them in the overall difference of stone thickness over the entire wall/

Hi Gary,

Looks great!
I'm interested in the lights you have above the dining table; it looks like they're dark drown/black exterior with a gold interior?
I'm looking for similar for our entrance hall to go with some similar wall lights we have.
Would you mind telling me their size and where they're from, please?

Thanks!
Russell
Hi Russell - they are black with a gold orange interior. They are called Forchini but I have no idea who makes them. I got them through a local company called Contract Lighting on 01202 518222 if you are interested.

Thanks Dan - I'm glad you like it. I am really pleased with the house and love living here.

Stop by for a cuppa next time!

Only issue is that I've got the 'bug' that people told me about! I enjoyed the process so much that want to do another one now so might sell in the next year and start all over again smile

Are Si's parents the ones with the brindle Westie cross that was stolen a while back?

If so, I had a long chat with them the other evening smile

It certainly is a small world sometimes smile

If you want to do a project it will happen! Just need to be patient and wait for the right one.

Ive wanted to do this since 1999 and was actively looking after selling my house in 2008!
