Well done for nabbing a plot in CC, developers are normally all over it like a fat kid on a cake.

All the best Gary. I remember you talking about such a project maybe 2 years ago.

Nice design and I think it will age well.

Question: There is no loft. Where will you store xmas decorations, ski stuff, luggage, vaccuum cleaner, ironing board etc.

Where will you store lawn mower etc?

I reckon a spiral wine cellar would be useful in a cool place like that.

Also, I bet a place like that would rent out in seconds if you ever needed to.

Really like the woody feel of the road. For some reason, it reminds me a bit of Cameron's Dad's house from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

You could also imagine Don Draper from Mad Men living there!

Thumbs up!
In the end I decided to have a flat roof in the living area to make that room more cosy - the voided roof now starts in the kitchen/diner just to the left of the fireplace (see below). So there will be a loft hatch in the laundry room that will run right through to the living room.

The garage is large enough for one car, motorbike and lawnmower. We may even build a small shed down the side of the garage. I wanted a much wider garage but the tree officer would not allow.

Spiral wine cellar is a a wonderful idea but the budget has to stop somewhere.

Sounds great. Loft will be very useful.

Do you have anymore room renders we can see?

Looking forward to the ongoing thread.

Lots of pics please!

Nice design and will be stunning when finished.

One question are you using PVC glazing frames or aluminium? If aluminium what system are you using? I only ask as I am in the facade business

Look forward to this with interest.

Who are you going with for the kitchen and what spec/appliances? I only ask as I'm local and about to exchange on a new place in Wimborne and need to get kitchen done as soon as we complete. Been to kitchen elegance in parkstone but undecided at the moment.

Well that's a co-incidence as the kitchen is coming from Kitchen Elegance. They did my last kitchen and were great. Their after sales service is also very very good.

The colours are different from the above rendering but basically it's a Leicht kitchen with Gaggenau appliances (my one big indulgence).

Who are you talking to - Jason, Matt?

Don't forget the underfloor heating, surely no one would fit radiators these days?

Just been in to browse at the moment, spoke to a guy called Nick I think it was. I liked the metris units they did, could easily carried away with the spec in there, like the £15k sub zero fridge! Gaggenau appliances likewise look really good quality too.

Don't want to tempt fate until we exchange contracts, as soon as we do I'll get full design and spec. Anyone in particular there you have found best to deal with?

Jason Vickers has been my main contact for a couple of years. The new design guy is Matt Hector. They are all good guys, very helpful.

Tell them Gary Hunt recommended you - they may even talk to you wink

I like the look of that, good luck with it!

A couple of thoughts on the design:

Any need for a coat / shoes cupboard near the front door? (Could move the wall on the right across a bit to shrink the bedroom and have a built in wardrobe in the hallway?) Much tidier and more useful than having hooks on the wall somewhere. Have half the cupboard accessed from the hall, and half from the bedroom, then offset the bedroom space reduction by deleting the wardrobe already planned?

Any need for a back door into the garage? (Or even an internal door). It'd be a bit of a pain to go round outside and open the main door every time you need a little something from the garage, and a rear door would let you get the mower out without moving car(s) or squeezing past if it's not as wide as you'd ideally want.

Looking forward to seeing more photos.
