No - I had an online chat on the Dreams website and the sales guy there confirmed it was 62cm (just over 2') and gave me links to other bed bases to look at.
The following day, I got an email from Amazon recommending me a Silentnight 1000 pocket sprung mattress for £215, which looked similar to the one Dreams were going to sell me at £600 ( now post sale price, nearer to £800).

Thinking about getting one of these. Looking at a double mattress for £465 from the Premier Inn site.

Saw the bit about 40 working days for delivery and had a cast around to see if there were any other stockists who may be able to offer quicker delivery. Found them on the John Lewis site, but starting at £900 and going up to £1500. Presumably the JL ones are not the same type as Premier Inn are selling, but can they really be 2 or 3 times as good?

I bought a divan from John Ryan and a mattress from premier Inn.

Can't fault either.

JL have 3 doubles on their website. One was out of stock, but the other two are available for next day delivery.

I ordered the one below from John Lewis which they had in stock at the time just before christmas , have to say it's a fantastic mattress!

Does any one have a Matermoll mattress ? If so how old is it and has it suffered as a result of time .

Used widely by cruise ships and the best bed we have slept in , going to try at the only UK supplier at the weekend

Bloody expensive but one spends approx a third of ones life in on it,

I've ordered a premier inn mattress and divan.

I considered just buying the mattress and putting in on the old frame, however the divan you get with it is sprung, so will feel much better than a hard base. In fact a hypnos sprung divan costs almost twice as much as the premier in deal, so it's good value. I suspect this is due to the retail markup.

Having spent quite a while in various shops realising that I couldn't really truly tell what was best for me I've just ordered a "studio by silentnight" foam/memory type one on Amazons special deals for £399.

I suffer with headaches and neck pain overnight so this is a first try of a memory foam type mattress so hopefully it'll work better for my neck/back as our current one has sagged a bit in the middle. Hopefully I find it comfy otherwise will need to send back which will be difficult given it's vacuum packed into a smaller box!

Bumping an old thread, are the owners of the Premier Inn mattresses still happy with them a few years on, as about to order one

Just bought a new bed and mattress for my 12yr old lad. Whilst shopping around online I came across this 3000 pocket spring mattress which looked a great price at £299..

https://www.happybeds.co.uk/mattresses/pocket-spru...

And this one at £210 which is probably the same mattress but re-badged?

https://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/3000-optimum-pocke...

We ended up getting him an Ascot Ottoman base which is great for storing all his crap..

And despite all my research into mattresses, I ended up getting him a Deep Sleep Elation 1000 pocket spring mattress as he fell in love with it in the showroom.

We had a Vi-Spring and it was fantastic. When we replaced it a few months ago it was £6k for a new one, so we went with the salesman's recommendation of a Relyon which he said was equivalent for just under £4k. This bed was so uncomfortable we complained to the store (without success) so we have just replaced the mattress with a Casper. It is slightly better but not great so I think we may have to suck it up and get another Vi-Spring.

Just replaced our 12000 spring King Size Bed with an "Emperor" sized Hypnos. Bit difficult getting bedding but it's big and comfortable enough for us not to worry about it. We'd stayed in a Marriott and a Crown Plaza with that size of Bed and the Marriott was a Hypnos and was lovely.

Tried one in the showroom and found it a bit odd. I think they are an acquired taste.

Odd in what way?

I’ve had Vi-Spring only for about 25 years now and would never stray.
