We found 5 fireplaces/ grates behind old walls in this room. Had to remove two for openings as unable to just slap out due to weight of fireplaces and wall condition!!

Blimey I didn't realise how tall that building was! The first picture of the last post makes it look huge compared to that bloke. Seems like a cracking project, I look forward to seeing the progress.

Which engine is that slk? What's it like? My parents are thinking of getting a diesel slk for motorway driving, will be doing 20k+ pa so needs to have good seats

It's a 250cdi only done 10 mile in it but it's cracking, it did 280 mile being delivered and returned 40.3mpg. Which will get better once it's done a few K.
Seats are harder then the z4 but still comfy and ride is better(softer).

Back to house, the height is double so over 6m!! Walkway will break it up but the double height library and lounge will be great.
It is massive though!!

Front timber frame in giving door and window apertures etc will get photos up later.
Starting to take shape, thank feck!
As £80k and not much structure done was starting to give us nightmares.

Im liking this a lot.

How come the next door was left so long as a mess with no-one else interested in it?

It came with the house when we bought it(9 years ago) and was semi derelict then and used for storage by previous owners.
It can't be built and sold indivdually due to the missives declaring no separate dwellings to be built on the land.
It was always the plan for us to do it an we have saved up the capital over last 9 years.
Will get more photos up next week as roof is starting to go on.
Off this afternoon to look at kitchens! Oh joy!!

It does look like it will be something rather special! Certainly raises the question of why so many of us live in modest homes for incredibly high prices just to have access to London! It always amazes me when you see some of the houses on the TV that end up in truly magnificent and large properties and still get lots of change out of £750k.

Looking forward to see how this develops ; nice one :0)
